Artifacts are essential in developing strong characters to use in Genshin Impact. Not only does the equipment increase overall stats like ATK and HP, but each Artifact type will also provide unique abilities. Playable characters in the game can fulfill different roles depending on how players equip these items. Despite the helpfulness of Artifacts, obtaining the right equipment can be challenging.

There are currently thirty-six different types of Artifacts in Genshin Impact. Among the many variations, each piece will offer one random main stat that will increase performance. The equipment will also offer multiple randomized sub-stats that will further boost an ally’s overall status. Each playable character requires a specific Artifact build in order to be effective in a specific role. Kazuha, for example, can increase the Elemental DMG bonus for allies based on his overall Elemental Mastery status. If players want to maximize Kazuha’s support skills, they’ll have to obtain multiple Elemental Mastery Artifacts.

There are multiple ways to obtain Artifacts in Genshin Impact. Several types of equipment can be found within chests through exploration or defeating enemies in battle. Despite being able to obtain Artifacts within the open world, the rarest and most helpful Artifacts can only be acquired through boss battles and Domains. Artifact drops have a random number generator (RNG) system, similar to Genshin Impact’s Wishes. Due to the randomization, there are no guarantees a player will obtain the right Artifact that is best suited for their characters. With limited Resin every day, it may take them weeks before obtaining the correct Artifact, which is why miHoYo should consider implementing new systems to help players.

Genshin Impact Needs To Separate Artifact Sets

There are two different types of Artifact sets that can be obtained within every boss battle and Domain. If a player is looking for a Heart of Depth headpiece with a Crit DMG main stat, the chances of obtaining the Artifact are lowered because the Blizard Strayer set is included within the Domain, which will reduce overall odds. What miHoYo can change to raise the chances of acquiring a specific Artifact Type is to separate all sets. Instead of having two different groups of equipment within one Domain, a new system where players can farm for one specific category of Artifacts will increase the odds of success.

Genshin Impact’s Artifacts Domain can have a rotating schedule similar to the Weapon Ascension and Talent Domains. This will allow players to plan ahead and farm more efficiently without wasting Resin. Even with the separation of Artifact sets, RNG isn’t fully eliminated as drops for individual pieces, main stats, and sub-stats are still randomized. Whether miHoYo decides to implement mechanics that’ll help gamers obtain specific Artifacts remains to be seen. Until then, players will be at the mercy of the game’s RNG.
