If there is one thing you can count on from developer Inti Creates, it is a game that is highly replayable. Each title from the studio might not be the longest game you’ll ever experience, but they each encourage multiple playthroughs to find every nook and cranny. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, the NES inspired spin-off to Ritual of the Night, even played with that idea by locking a “true” ending behind multiple playthroughs.

That same idea is present in the just-released sequel, Curse of the Moon 2. You won’t need to put aside a lot of time to finish the game, but it’s hard to say specifically how long it will take to beat. The first episode will run you a little less than three hours, but you’ll need to finish the game a few times to get the final ending. Factoring in all of that, you’re looking at around 9-12 hours to 100% Curse of the Moon 2.

That’s not to say there isn’t extra stuff to keep you coming back. The second episode in the game has an alternate ending that unlocks an additional episode to playthrough. You have both the “Casual” and “Veteran” difficulty options to mix things up. There’s even the addition of cooperative play, which means you can experience the entire campaign with a friend by your side.

Inti Creates also recently announced that a Boss Rush mode would be added in a future update, which adds some extra incentive to boot up the game again. When you finish every episode, you’ll also get a special “Zangetsu Mode” to tinker with.

Finally, there are a variety of achievements/trophies that will task you with beating episodes in a specific manner. One requires you to assemble the pieces of the Zanmatou in Episode Two without using level select. That’s not a tremendously difficult feat, but it’s something a lot of people are going to overlook their first time through.

All in all, it’s not an insubstantial amount of stuff to do. If you just want to see the credits for the first time, however, then three hours is the mark. You can knock that down by roughly 40 minutes depending on your skill and whether or not you’re playing in co-op.
