Egg Scramble is the worst. It’s a mad dash to grab as many eggs as you can before the time runs out and the team with the least eggs gets eliminated. The problem with Egg Scramble is that it can be a real pain just getting the eggs in the first place, and often the team with the slowest players is the one that gets eliminated.
Worse, the two teams that are ahead will often decide to pick on the losing team in order to secure their position. This means that if your team gets behind in the early part of the round, it’s almost impossible to come back to avoid elimination.
The key then is to be as efficient with your egg-grabbing as possible. To do this, tossing your eggs is a far better tactic than merely dropping down into your team’s basket in order to deposit your ovoid bounty.
But how do you toss an egg? There’s no “throw” button in Fall Guys, but there is a combination of commands that will sort of imitate throwing if you do it right.
How To Throw An Egg
First, you’ll obviously need an egg, so during the early part of the game do the usual run to the center of the map to grab one. Then start waddling back to your team’s basket as fast as your tiny legs can carry you. Line yourself up with the basket and when you’re relatively close, perform these series of commands in succession.
First jump, then while in the air, hit the “dive” button to propel yourself forward. Then, while still in the air, hit the “grab” button to release your egg. Since you released the egg with all that forward momentum, this will effectively throw the egg forward. On PC, the buttons would be spacebar, then CTRL, and then Shift, or X, Square, and R2 on PS4.
This maneuver is tricky so practice is definitely key. However, when done correctly, throwing the egg will get it into the basket without the need to actually descend into your team’s base. This will save you a lot of time and let you start raiding opposing team’s baskets much sooner.
