Icarus The Best Talents To Get First

Icarus gives players plenty of choices regarding character progression by awarding Tech points and Talent points on every level up. These points can be spent on two very different trees and will progress the characters in distinct ways. While Tech points can be used to learn new schematics, Talent points will improve the players’ characters, making them better suited to face the various dangers and challenges in Icarus.

Players will receive one Talent point each time they level up in Icarus and an extra point every five levels. Talent points are currently capped at level 40, which means players will not be awarded more by leveling beyond it. Overall, players can have access to a total of 48 Talent points per character, which can be used to make countless different builds.

Icarus splits Talents into four different trees, each focused on a particular aspect of the game. The first tree is Survival and will mainly increase the player’s ability to harvest materials. The second tree, Construction, is focused on repairs and improving crafting. The Combat tree is split among the four weapon types in the game, each focused on making them more effective. The Solo tree is only active when players are not playing in co-op in Icarus but will provide several powerful buffs to the character.

The Best Early Build in Icarus

Players will find that several Talents in Icarus will work well with any build they plan to make. These “core talents” will improve characters in very basic but meaningful ways, such as increasing their health or stamina. The best overall build in Icarus will most likely include all “core talents” in the Survival tree. After spending these points, players will still have access to 28 more that should be used to customize their character to their playstyle.

Players should start by putting points in Robust Explorer and Swift Survivor. These will provide a boost to health and movement speed, two very important stats that will help players stay alive in Icarus and therefore avoid losing time and items. Players should then consider spending three points in Dense Packing, which will provide more carrying capacity, another essential need in the game that will save players a lot of trips to their base in Icarus.

The second part of the build is heavily focused on the Hunting subtree in Survival. Creatures are the deadliest danger that players will face in Icarus, and these talents will not only help players survive but also hunt creatures effectively for valuable resources and experience. Players should begin with Chase ‘Em Down and acquire the two follow-up talents. After that, they should put one point in Health Bars, one in Without a Sound, and another in Careful Skinner. This will allow players to grab three more points in Chase ‘Em Down, providing them with valuable stamina they will need throughout Icarus’ diverse biomes.
