The App Library also organizes the user’s apps into one easy-to-navigate page. Apps are automatically sorted into various categories and the App Library is accessible with a left swipe, depending on the number of Home Screen pages.
With iOS 14.2 now rolling out, more than 100 new emojis and eight new wallpapers are now available. Emoji have become a fun and easy form of communication, but sometimes there is no emoji to encapsulate a particular feeling or activity. Apple hopes to increase those chances by updating its emoji catalogue with new animal, face, food, household objects, and musical instruments options, including the “pinched fingers” emoji. Additional gender-neutral emojis include people in tuxedos and veils, while an alternate to the Santa Claus emoji provides iPhone users with even more choice.
New iOS 14.2 Wallpapers
iOS 14.2 also introduces eight new wallpapers. The wallpapers come in the form of eight stills with a mountainous theme. Four of the wallpapers are actual shots of mountains while the other four are beautifully drawn. As with most Apple-exclusive wallpapers, each of the new wallpapers come with light and dark mode versions. However, the dark mode versions of the drawn wallpapers have a purple contrast.
Overall, the new emoji and wallpapers are likely to be welcomed additions to iOS 14. Emoji are increasingly becoming an interactive way for online communication and it often does not take long for a new emoji to become the next popular meme online. The new wallpapers are surprising, considering that most native wallpapers from Apple are exclusive to its brand new iPhone models. Thankfully, all iPhone models compatible with iOS 14.2 will have access to the new wallpapers. If the new emoji and wallpapers are not selling points on their own, it is still worth downloading the latest iOS update for everything else Apple included, such as improved security and bug fixes.
