The latest trailer for Marvel’s What If…? reveals new out of this world scenarios for the MCU. For months now, Marvel has flooded Disney+ with thrilling new content, starting with WandaVision in January. The MCU has numerous television shows planned for the streaming service, and most of them are centered around beloved characters with ties to the movies. However, the animated What If…? is a noted departure from this format, as it considers what would happen if certain MCU events played out differently.
For example, the first episode of What If…? considers a world where Peggy Carter takes the super soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers. Each episode will cover a new adventure spanning the Marvel universe, and they’ll feature the characters fans know and love. It will also feature the voice talents of actors from the films, including the late Chadwick Boseman in his last role as T’Challa. Marvel unveiled a teaser trailer for What If…? last winter, and now fans can get their next look at the speculative series.
Today, Marvel Entertainment released the official trailer for What If…?, and it is a wild ride. It feels like almost every MCU character imaginable is glimpsed for at least a few seconds, and it’s clear there are a lot of exciting stories ahead. In addition to revealing new looks at some of the stories featured within the 10 episodes, it confirms the show will premiere on August 11. Check it out below.

Though the new What If…? trailer features several storylines that were already revealed, like the aforementioned Peggy Carter plot and T’Challa as Star-Lord, it also introduces new concepts that are bound to make jaws drop. For one thing, the trailer kicks off with Killmonger coming to Tony Stark’s aid during the Afghanistan attack from Iron Man. For another, the iconic Avengers lineup during the Battle of New York has some new faces from Guardians of the Galaxy.
Much like the comics it is inspired by, What If…? will turn the MCU on its head by imagining some really creative scenarios. These obviously can’t be carried out on the big screen, but through this show, truly anything is possible. What If…? already has a season 2 in the works, so there will be even more alternate timelines ahead. Based on the above trailer alone, it’s clear What If…? is taking full advantage of its concept, from the beautiful animation to the surprising twists. It’ll be quite exciting to see each and every one of these stories play out next month.
