Whitney has always been very open with her past and seemed to enjoy sharing a peek into her life before she was famous. TLC viewers may even be surprised to learn she was voted prom princess.
Whitney has won over the hearts of viewers thanks to her upbeat attitude and body-positive message. Since day one on My Big Fat Fabulous Life, Whitney has been an open book as fans learned she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) shortly after leaving for college at the age of 23. Fans also learned that during her formative years, Whitney suffered from an eating disorder. Throughout her time on her show, she has tried her best to uplift others and defy stereotypes. Now, Whitney is taking time to reminisce about a much simpler time.
In a recent Instagram Q&A, Whitney allowed her fans to ask her questions. Most were about her new French boyfriend, but some circled back to her weight. One follower bluntly asked if the dancer had always been overweight. Whitney only replied “No” but added a few pictures as evidence. In the photos, fans of My Big Fat Fabulous Life could see that she was petite in high school and was even in the prom court. In the pictures, Whitney can be seen wearing a pink halter dress while holding flowers after her win. Another fan asked if she was popular, to which Whitney replied, “Yes.”
Another photo showed the My Big Fat Fabulous Life star posing with her prom date as the two were dressed to the nines. As followers are aware, Whitney’s weight has always been the talk of the show as viewers have watched her weight fluctuate. She shed 70 lbs during the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to speculation that Whitney had gone under the knife and had gastric bypass surgery. Alas, Whitney has denied having surgery and blamed her breakup with Chase Severino for her issues.
Overall, Whitney’s followers loved seeing old photos of her. Usually, Whitney also shared pictures of her mother, Babs, and it was really nice for her to reveal what life was like pre-television.
