Moonglow Bay is a relaxing fishing sim with a charming story that’s divided into five chapters. During just about every chapter, you unlock a new part of the bay, but doing so can come with frustrations as the game can be a little vague on how to complete specific tasks.
This really shows up during chapter three, when you are tasked with finding a fish called the ‘Jungle King.’ If you don’t find this incredibly elusive fish, then you won’t be able to complete chapter three, and about half of the game’s fishing spot will forever remain closed off to you.
How to find the Jungle King
The ‘Jungle King’ is a fabled fish in Moonglow Bay that you will need to exchange in order to acquire a small boat. The only problem is that it can seem next to impossible to catch the fish, even when you go to the area that Reese says it should be located in. The fish, who is actually the Lionhead Bass, is honestly pretty simple to catch once you learn the requirements for catching the breed. Here’s what you need to do to catch the ‘Jungle King’ within just a few minutes of time:
- Go to the Perching Isles
- Use the Spinner Lure and Poise Rod
- Use high-quality bait
- Fish in deep water
Once you have the Jungle King, head back to Moonglow Bay and give the fish to Reese. You will now have access to the dingy and can use it to enter the Hot Springs area of the map. To use the dingy, walk to the front of your ship and tap the button displayed on your screen twice, once to summon the dingy and the second to get on board.
How to Open the Sea Door
You can’t just press a button and open the sea door; you will need to do a few tasks around town to learn the location of the key first. To gain access to the Sea Door’s key’s location, you will need to complete the following tasks:
- Restoring the pier near the aquarium.
- Restoring the clock tower that sits above town.
- Restoring the library.
You will need to spend a lot of time selling fish and recipes for shells as the library alone will cost you 5,000 shells to renovate.
- Once you have repaired the library, you will learn where the door’s key is located; go to that location on your map and use your fishing rod to pull the key onto your boat.
- Head to the Hotspring entrance located above the sea door and use your dingy to navigate the narrow waterways to the other side of the door.
- Once you reach the door, go up to it and use the key. You can now exit the area to bring your fishing boat into the new part of the bay.
