Natsume Inc. has released the first official image of the upcoming Harvest Moon: One World’s female protagonist.
The image was first posted to Natsume’s official Twitter account (@Natsume_Inc) yesterday morning. In the Tweet, the company introduced the main female protagonist character of the upcoming game and informed followers that her official name was still undecided. They even informed fans they were “open to suggestions.”
The image of the protagonist was accompanied by some text that described the still-unnamed female protagonist: “A young woman with a bright and cheerful personality. She yearns to travel the world in search of the various foods she’s learned about in her book.”
Fans were quick to comment on the cute and adorable design of the character, as well as to offer their own suggestions for her name. Natsume has replied to a number of name suggestions with their own reactions. Some of the top-liked name suggestions included “Melody”, “Scarlett”, “Bethany”, and even one request to simply name her “Protagonist.” (Natsume even replied to that last one with a surprised Pikachu face gif.)
There haven’t been too many details yet regarding the upcoming launch of Harvest Moon: One World. So far, all that’s been confirmed is that the game will be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch and that it will follow the same format of past Harvest Moon games.
Last month, the first images of the game’s box art and cover design were released, which featured both the male and female protagonist standing on top of a cliff overlooking a beautiful farm. The human characters are accompanied by some equally cute animals, including a horse, dog, chicken, and baby chick.
Regarding the game’s cover art, Hiro Maekawa, the President and CEO of Natsume, commented saying: “We are excited to share the first look at the new art for Harvest Moon: One World, which gives you a sneak peek at the vast world filled with mystery, challenges, new friends, and farming fun that awaits players. We are also excited to officially confirm it is coming to the PlayStation 4 alongside the Switch. The Harvest Moon franchise has a long history on the Sony platforms including releases on the original PlayStation, PlayStation 2, 3, and 4 as well as the PS Vita and PSP.”
Harvest Moon: One World will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch later this year. At the time of writing, no official release date has been confirmed.
