New Pokémon Snap 10 Sleepiest Pokémon

In a game where the goal is to take the best possible photographs of Pokémon, there are several Pokémon that don’t make you work hard for it by just staying still and sleeping.

In the somewhat hectic universe of Pokémon, with all the battling and chaotic interactions, New Pokémon Snap gives a unique insight into Pokémon behavior in the wild in their own comfort zones, including Pokémon that take a nap at night or even during the day.

10 Meowth Enjoys A Nice Nap In The Sun

Found at the Research Lab course, this Meowth is taking a nice peaceful daytime nap next to an inactive NEO-ONE vehicle. It’s easy enough to disturb the Meowth’s peaceful slumber and wake it up to get it running around for more active photo opportunities, but this one of a Meowth sleeping is a great photo in itself.

Despite only registering as a 1-star photo, it’s a nice quiet and unassuming picture, capturing Pokémon being comfortable in an environment surrounded by people and human interaction.

9 Torkoal Can Sleep Peacefully Despite Eventful Surroundings

The Fireflow Volcano level is generally very chaotic, reflecting its fiery surroundings and prehistoric atmosphere, but there are also rare moments reflecting peace and quiet, with this instance of a Torkoal being a fine example.

The third generation Fire-type Pokémon is a member of Ash’s Hoenn team in the anime, but here it is more than happy to get some sleep surrounded by hot fire and lava. While it doesn’t get a particularly high score or many stars, it is still a good photo representing the other side of the Pokémon living in this frantic volcano environment.

8 Mamoswine Can Seemingly Fall Asleep Anywhere

Mamoswine is much larger than its previous evolution form, Piloswine, and is certainly much more aggressive too. Found in the Shiver Snowfields, Mamoswine casts an imposing figure as you make your way through the course, but this particular Mamoswine near the end of the level is comfortable and resting, merely shrugging off any attempt to distract it and going straight back to sleep.

It’s a wonder it is able to sleep with an Abomasnow loudly smashing around near it but it finds a way and also presents a perfect photo opportunity, being worth at least 3 stars and racking up around 4,000 points.

7 Shinx and Flareon Seem At Home Napping Together

Another example of peace and tranquility being on show in the otherwise loud and chaotic environment of Fireflow Volcano is a Shinx sleeping. There are a couple to be found during the route around the fiery volcano but this particular one of a Shinx resting with a Flareon offers an intriguing insight into the natures of these Pokémon.

There are several Luxray, the final evolved form of Shinx, near the beginning of the level but no Shinx are seen relaxing or being comfortable around them, whereas here in this 3-star picture are two Pokémon that share a mutual appreciation for naps.

6 Liepard Are Peaceful Sleepers Even If They Happen To Be Blocking The Way

There are several Liepard to be found throughout the Founja Jungle level but none present better photo opportunities than this particular sleepy Liepard having a daytime nap. Despite this photo only being worth 1 star and there being 3-star opportunities for Liepard on the nighttime variant of the course, this particular photo is just pure peace and quiet.

That being said, if you want to get access to the shortcut for this level that goes behind the waterfall, you will need to disturb this sleeping Pokémon well in advance, denying you the opportunity to snap this particular photo. This is why every level should be played multiple times, in order to record all the best bits.

5 Onix Can Actually Be Calm And Peaceful, Who Knew?

Several Onix are present and sleepy at the nighttime variant of Sweltering Sands on the island of Voluca. Despite their intimidating nature and enormous size, they look somewhat peaceful and relaxed at this point of the course, presenting perfect opportunities for close-up 1-star photos.

As soon as they are disturbed, however, they will burst up from the sand and spring into life, becoming much more erratic, aggressive, and thus harder to photograph. If you do manage to snap a photo as these Onix are waking up, you will be able to get at least a 2-star photo.

4 Bouffalant Are Calm Until Provoked

New Pokémon Snap 10 Sleepiest Pokémon

Bouffalant are surprisingly one of the more docile and peaceful species of Pokémon to be found in New Pokémon Snap. During the day, they are grazing and living alongside other Pokémon such as Scorbunny and Comfey. At night they are mostly sleeping. While the sleeping photos won’t necessarily get the best scores compared to other poses, photographing Bouffalant that are relaxing with all the Comfey at the end of the daytime course should get a 3-star photo.

The peace can only really be disturbed by playing music during the day which for whatever reason gets these huge Pokémon riled up, even sparking a brief confrontation between two of them in the first sector of the daytime course.

3 Hippowdon Will Sleep Anywhere, Anytime

New Pokémon Snap 10 Sleepiest Pokémon

Hippowdon are ever-present all throughout the Sweltering Sands course, whether it be the day or nighttime variants. In both cases, Hippowdon can be seen either napping or moving around, examples of both peaceful and more aggressive interactions between the species. Photographs of sleeping Hippowdon don’t seem to garner many stars, but most close-up 1-star photos of the bulky Ground-type Pokémon asleep should bring in a solid score of at least 4,000.

2 Torterra Welcome Sleeping Buddies

New Pokémon Snap 10 Sleepiest Pokémon

Possibly the calmest and most peaceful photo opportunity to be had in New Pokémon Snap is one featuring Torterra, Pichu, and Grookey sleeping comfortably next to one another shows the wholesome side of this game that makes it so great.

There are multiple Torterra to be found on Florio during the nighttime course, with most of them being sound asleep, comfortably making Torterra one of the sleepiest Pokémon in the entire game just by how many of them are asleep at once. They can be disturbed and woken up in order to get that elusive 4-star photo but it almost feels wrong to do that and disturb the peace.

1 Slaking’s Only Interests Are Food And Sleep

Located in the Founja Jungle, the massive Pokémon that caused many a problem for players in the Ruby & Sapphire games due to its bulk and ferocity merely showcases its lazy attributes of sleeping and eating, especially on this particular course during the day.

While it will slowly roll over if enough Fluffruit are thrown either at it or near it, it will only roll over for a brief moment, and even then it will simply eat the fruit before rolling back over to continue sleeping, not giving the player or camera a second thought. At nighttime, however, if the player opts to go the swamp route, it will encounter a Slaking that’s on the move, but once again it has no interest in the player. Despite being on a quest to find and eat fruit, it does present a 4-star photo opportunity.
