New Pokemon Snap At Home In The Dark Request Guide

New Pokemon Snap may be very similar to its predecessor that released about 20 years ago, but there have been some new additions here and there to bring in new players. There are dozens upon dozens of requests to complete that come from the game’s NPCs, and these can reward players with little prizes that can be used for photo editing and such.

One of New Pokemon Snap’s requests is called At Home in the Dark, and requires players to have access to the Research Camp for photo-taking opportunities. In order to take photos at the base camp, players must first complete one of these stages: Illumina Spot, Fireflow Volcano Illumina Spot, or Elsewhere Forest Illumina Spot.

Players should be on the main menu screen, and then select the option in the top-left corner that says “take photos here.” Gamers should make sure that they’re on the side of the camp with the lab in the background, with some flying Vivillon in front of it. There’s only one type of expedition for this course, so players don’t need to worry about heading in with a certain research level.

Once the stage starts, players will see a Meowth taking a nap by one of the vehicles. Wake it up with one of New Pokemon Snap’s Fluffruit, and then try to toss Fluffruit to the left of him so that he can be lured under the wooden deck in front of the lab. Once the Meowth gets under the deck, just wait a few seconds, and then a Rattata will run away from under it.

Meowth will eventually begin to chase it down the camp, and players will need to snap a photo of the two Pokemon running. Rattata is the focus here, so players should make sure that the pictures they take have it as the target Pokemon, otherwise the request might not be completed.

Once the perfect photo has been taken, players can either end the expedition there by heading into the pause menu or continue the course to get more pictures of the area’s Pokemon. Either way, the player will still be able to show off the Ratatta/Meowth photo to Professor Mirror for the request to be marked as finished.

New Pokemon Snap is now available as an exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch.
