Nier Reincarnation offers many characters that you can use to build a powerful three-person team to work your way through the emotionally rich story that is quite rare in a gacha game. Each character brings something of use to the table, but only a select few will rise above the rest in certain situations.

Things such as PvP and PvE will have subtle shifts in the ranking of characters as some tend to shine brighter in different situations. Additionally, each character will have a 1-4 Star ranking in-game, which can help you decide who’s better on the spot. However, that only tells half the story as a few other factors determine the best characters in Nier Reincarnation.

Getting Characters

Due to Nier Reincarnation being a gacha game, it can be frustrating trying to get the character you want. “Summoning” new characters require Gems, which get earned by completing Missions, playing the Roulette Machine, grabbing your daily login bonus, and much more.

However, spending these free Gems on character rolls can often give you things you either don’t need or want, which isn’t exactly a good feeling. Luckily, you can Reroll whatever you pull for a chance at better characters and items. While it doesn’t guarantee anything vastly better, it offers a way to get something better for whatever it’s worth.

PvE Tier List

PvE is where you will likely spend most of your time in Nier Reincarnation and refers to the main questlines of the game. The following characters specialize against CPU enemies, opposed to player-controlled ones.
