Pokemon Crown Tundra Where To Find Terrakion

The Crown Tundra DLC for Pokemon Sword & Shield has finally arrived, and it’s adding lots of Legendary Pokemon from to the game. Here’s how to catch Terrakion in the Crown Tundra.

Terrakion was introduced in Pokemon Black & White as one of the four members of the Swords of Justice, alongside Cobalion, Virizion, and Keldeo. Since then, it has been given away during several events and can be caught in Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, as well as in Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.

Once you join Peony’s expedition in Freezington, you can spot a set of footprints near a tree at the edge of town. Examine them, and Sonia from Pokemon Sword & Shield will appear. Sonia mentions that the footprints can be used to find specific Legendary Pokemon that have been spotted in the Crown Tundra area.

Each type of footprints corresponds to a different Pokemon: the blue footprints belong to Cobalion, the grey ones belong to Terrakion, and the green ones belong to Virizion. In order to find Terrakion, you need to search the area between Giant’s Bed/Old Cemetery and Ballimere Lake. These footprints seem to spawn randomly (similar to the glowing items on the map) and more of them will appear than necessary, so don’t worry about needing to track down specific footprints. Once you find 100% of the footprints, return to Sonia and she will tell you that the Cavern Pokemon (Terrakion) can be found in Lakeside Cave.

To reach Lakeside Cave, head to Ballimere Lake and keep to the left-hand side of the area. You should see a cave opening in the distance. Head into the cave, which should be filled with wandering Pokemon. Terrakion can be found trotting around the left side of the cave. Make sure to save your game and then approach it to do battle.

Pokemon Crown Tundra Cobalion Guide – How To Catch Terrakion

Unlike the Dynamax Adventures Legendary Pokemon that have a 100% catch rate during their first encounter, Terrakion is a wandering Legendary and can potentially be knocked out by the player. Like the fierce quest to catch Cobalion, Terrakion is a tough battle. It’s a level 70 Rock/Fighting-type Pokemon that knows Close Combat, Sacred Sword, Stone Edge, and Swords Dance. As a Legendary Pokemon, Terrakion is incredibly resistant to being caught, even when dropped to 1 HP and inflicted with status effects. As such, a certain degree of patience is required, unless you’re willing to blow a Master Ball in the process. Terrakion takes double damage from Fighting, Ground, Steel, Water, Grass, Psychic, and Fairy-type moves, so prepare your party accordingly — but remember, you don’t want to knock Terrakion out, so be sure to save before you engage him.
