To honor these occasions, Pokémon GO announced a trip back to where the series began, the Kanto region. The special, ticketed event promised players a chance to capture all of the original 151 Pokémon and a lot of fun, themed content. Most recently, the game’s creators shared that ticketed players would be able to choose between two different versions of the event, Red or Green, a nod to original Pokémon game titles. Niantic recently announced that the three legendary flying Pokémon, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres would be capping off Pokémon GO’s Kanto festivities in a Raid Day. For a chance to catch one of these elusive creatures, trainers will have to wait until Sunday, February 28 – a date which marks the closing of the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event. The five-star raids which feature the trio will take place for only a short period of time, namely from 11 AM and 2 PM, but will hopefully grant players enough time to not only catch all three but also score the creatures’ shiny versions.
