A new rotation of Pokemon GO Raid Bosses just arrived, which means it’s time for trainers to start updating their counter rosters and preparing for a new week of exciting challenges and events. The latest rotation brings a trio of Legendary creatures to the 5-star Battle Raid slot, which means players are going to need to prepare for some difficult fights.
Luckily, each of thee enemies has already appeared at least once before, which means many Pokemon GO players likely already have a handful of strong counters powered up and ready for the fight. That said, a lot has changed in Pokemon since Terrakion, first appeared in 5-star Battle Raids, so there are some new counters and movesets available that players may want to use to update their old roster.
Terrakion is a powerful Rock/Fighting-type, which means that players should focus on exploiting its weaknesses to Steel, Psychic, Fighting, Water, Fairy, Grass, and Ground-types. Mewtwo is going to be a heavy hitter once again in this fight and players who can equip one with Confusion and Psystrike should have a major advantage heading into this battle. There are also some powerful Mega Pokemon that players now have at their disposable that could be helpful for this particular fight.
Terrakion can be taken down with just two players if the weather and bonuses are right and each player is maxed out with perfect counters. That said, it is highly recommended that the average players stick to parties of four or five to take the Legendary down without any serious problems.
Players who just want the simplest strategy can opt to select the most powerful Psychic- or Steel-types that are available in their storage. There are obviously some Pokemon who will get the job done faster than others, but in general a strong roster of Psychic- and Steel-type Pokemon will likely lead to a successful Battle Raid.

Venusaur (Mega) – Vine Whip/Frenzy Plant
Metagross – Zen Headbutt/Meteor Mash

Latios – Zen Headbutt/Psychic
Conkeldurr – Counter/Dynamic Punch
Kyogre – Waterfall/Surf
Jirachi – Confusion/Doom Desire
Groudon – Mud Shot/Earthquake
Swampert – Mud Shot/Hydro Cannon
Terrakion isn’t the toughest tier 5 Raid Boss, but players should definitely still take the time to put together a smart counter roster to help avoid wasted Raid Passes or time. Using any of the options listed above should get the job done, assuming players also have three or four other mid- to high-level friends around to help challenge the Legendary.
As trainers continue working through these amazing events, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal.
