Pokemon GO fans, get ready for GO Battle League Season 4! Niantic has announced that the new season will begin Monday, September 14th at 1:00 p.m. (PDT). Although Season 4 will be following a league rotation similar to Season 3, Season 4 will see changes to end-of-season rewards, rank progression, and even certain attacks.
Season 4 will also be introducing a new activity: the Flying Cup, which will take place during the limited-time Battle Night event. Players will only be able to use Flying-type Pokémon when participating in the Flying Cup and will have to contend with a CP limit of 1,500. The Flying Cup will begin September 24th at 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. local time.
Niantic has also announced the league rotation and schedule for Season 4. First up will be Great League, which will start on Monday, September 14th at 1:00 p.m. and end on Monday, September 28th at 1:00 p.m. (PDT).
The next event will be the Ultra League and its Premier Cup, which will run from Monday, September 28th, 1:00 p.m. to Monday, October 12th, 1:00 p.m (PDT). This will be immediately followed by the Master League and its Premiere Cup, which begins October 12th at 1:00 p.m. and runs till Monday, October 26th at 1:00 p.m. (PDT).
After that, comes an all-new, never before seen event: the Halloween Cup! As implied by the name, this spooky cup will only allow players to use Ghost, Poison, Bug, Dark, and Fairy-type Pokémon. Additionally, players can meet Pokémon dressed in Halloween costumes as reward encounters. If you want to get your hands on a cute Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle all dolled up in their Halloween best, participating in the Halloween Cup is the way to go! The Cup begins on Monday, October 26th at 1:00 p.m. and ends on Tuesday, November 3rd at 1:00 p.m. (PST).
After the Halloween Cup, Niantic will be running the Great, Ultra, and Master Leagues and the Premiere Cup simultaneously until November 9th, which is when GO Battle League Season 5 will begin. Season 5 will only run for three weeks, but as a result, ratings will not be in effect and players can progress through the season by winning a certain number of battles.
