Pokemon GO Extends Deal on Pokeball Boxes

Trainers who aren’t quite ready to wrap up the Pokemon GO Halloween event festivities will be pleased to know that the availability of special boxes in the game’s shop has been extended.

The news comes from the official Pokemon GO Twitter account, where it was announced that deals on Special, Great, and Ultra Boxes will continue past the event’s end date. Trainers have until November 6th to take advantage of this offer.

The boxes contain an assortment of items helpful to trainers and are sold at a reduced price for the event. The Special Box sells for 480 coins and contains five Incense, six Raid passes, and 10 Pinap berries. The Silver Box sells for 780 coins and contains seven Incense, four Super Incubators, and 10 Razz berries. The high-end Ultra Box sells for much more at 1480 coins, and contains 12 Incense, six Super Incubators, six Lucky Eggs, and six Raid Passes.

The Halloween Event is notable not just for its abundance of ghost-types and candy, but also because it marks the introduction of generation 3 Pokemon. The Hoenn region Pokemon will continue to gradually release into the game, but the Halloween event will begin with the oddest and spookiest of the generation, to match the theme of the event. Pokemon like Shuppet, Banette, Duskall, Dusclops, and Sableye are among the creepy critters available.

Additionally, trainers could encounter shiny variants of these Pokemon, which means they appear with a different color palette than normal. These are very rare, and the only major difference between the original is its appearance. They are more for collectors and those who want bragging rights than anything else.

While the Halloween box sales continue, the event itself has ended, and players are now looking forward to what’s next. In anticipation of this, Niantic has released the next Legendary Pokemon to the game’s raids, and Suicune is now available in the States. Trainers who want to take on this beast will need to prepare a team that can handle this powerful water-type. Grass and Electric attacks would do best, so bringing along another Legendary like Zapdos would be a smart strategy.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
