In a surprising turn of events, Fashion Week 2021 is turning out to be one of the most anticipated events of Pokemon GO’s September calendar. The big event fires off in just a few days and is going to offer players access to some exciting spawns, a new Pokedex entry, and a new form changing mechanic.

Pokemon GO definitely has a habit of celebrating Fashion Week, but this year the mobile AR game is going all out. Furfrou will debut in the game during the weeklong event and players will have plenty of other activities to keep themselves busy during the closing days of Septemeber, as well.

Shiny collectors have some excitement to look forward to with this event thanks to some fashionably dressed shiny spawns for extra lucky players. There will also be other regular spawns to keep an eye out for, some interesting Raid Bosses, and the next step of this season’s longform Special Research chain. Players can dig into all of the available details right here…

Special Spawns

Look forward to Pokémon like Butterfree, Sneasel, and Blitzle wearing fashionable costumes for the first time! Costumed Pokémon that starred during last year’s Fashion Week event—like Smoochum, Kirlia, Shinx, and Croagunk—will return as well!

In addition to Furfrou, costumed Pokémon like Kirlia, Blitzle, and Croagunk will be appearing in the wild. If you’re lucky, you might also encounter costumed Butterfree!

New Shiny Pokemon

If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Butterfree, Shiny Sneasel, Shiny Smoochum, Shiny Kirlia, Shiny Shinx, Shiny Croagunk, or Shiny Blitzle—all wearing fashionable costumes! You may encounter Shiny Blitzle without a costume after Fashion Week has concluded, but you won’t see Blitzle in the wild very often.

How To Change Forms

Furfrou’s debut in Pokémon GO also marks the arrival of a new feature that will allow you to change the forms of certain Pokémon. Follow these steps to change Furfrou’s Trim!

  • Furfrou begins in its Natural Trim.
  • Select Furfrou in your Pokémon storage and then tap the ‘Change Form‘ button to bring up a menu that lists the available Trims.
  • Select your preferred Trim.
  • Changing your Furfrou from one Trim to any other Trim will cost 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.
