Pokémon GO Here’s What to Expect On December Community Day

This year, Pokémon GO’s final Community Day event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 13. Pokémon featured in Community Days from the past two years will appear more frequently in the wild and in raids, so this event will be a great time to catch Pokémon featured in any Community Day events missed previously.

For a limited time each day, trainers are more likely to encounter certain Shiny Pokémon and benefit from bonuses. Different Pokémon will also appear more frequently in Mega Raids. Read on for details on what you can expect from each day of the December Community Day weekend. While all previous Community day Pokémon will be available, there are some conditions for each.

Starting Saturday, Dec. 13 at 6 a.m. local time and lasting until Sunday, Dec. 13 at 10 p.m. local time, Charmander, Weedle, Abra, Gastly, Rhyhorn, Electabuzz, Magmar, Magikarp, Porygon, Seedot and Piplup will appear more frequently in the wild. Meanwhile, Totodile, Swinub, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Ralts, Slakoth, Trapinch, Bagon, Turtwig and Chimchar will appear more often in raids. Players who hatch 2km Eggs may get Totodile, Swinub, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Ralts, Slakoth, Trapinch, Bagon, Turtwig, or Chimchar.

On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time, Pokémon GO players are more likely to encounter Shiny Weedle, Abra, Gastly, Rhyhorn, Seedot and Piplup. On Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time, players have a higher chance of catching Shiny Charmander, Electabuzz, Magmar, Magikarp, and Porygon. Bonuses on both days include 2x Catch Stardust and 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in Incubators during these hours. Incense activated during this window on either day will last for three hours.

While all Pokémon will be available for December Community Day in Pokémon GO, some are only available in raids or from 2km Eggs. With the reduced hatch distance, it will be somewhat easier to hatch Pokémon, although with so many hatching possibilities, it will be tough for players to get all the Pokémon they may want.
