The final week of April is here and as Pokemon GO trainers continue powering through the game’s current ongoing events, it is already time to start looking ahead to next month. May 2021 aims to deliver an incredibly exciting period for the mobile AR game with the debut of some powerful new Legendary Pokemon. As always, that means that a new rotation of Battle Raid bosses is on the way.
The full May 2021 Pokemon GO calendar is now live and, although there are sure to be surprises, trainers should have a good idea of what is on the way throughout the month. As mentioned about, one of the biggest highlights is going to be the Luminous events that introduce Xerneas and Yveltal to the game. As if that wasn’t enough excitement, those are just a few of the high power Battle Raids that are going to be available in the coming weeks.
The initial Legendary and Mega Raid schedule is now live and there are a lot of familiar faces so far. On the Legendary side of things, Therian Forme Landorus is going to be replaced by Incarnate Forme Tornadus, Incarnate Forme Thundurus, and Incarnate Forme Landorus.
May 2021 Legendary Raid Schedule
The following Legendary Pokémon will be appearing in five-star raids throughout May.
Incarnate Forme Tornadus, Incarnate Forme Thundurus, and Incarnate Forme Landorus will continue to appear in five-star raids until Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
From Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time, Xerneas, the Life Pokémon, will be making its Pokémon GO debut!
From Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time, Yveltal, the Destruction Pokémon, will be making its Pokémon GO debut!
May 2021 Mega Raid Schedule
In addition, the following Mega-Evolved Pokémon will be appearing in Mega Raids.
Mega Venusaur, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Abomasnow will continue to appear in Mega Raids until Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
From Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. local time, Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Lopunny will appear in Mega Raids.
From Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. to Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time, Mega Ampharos, Mega Houndoom, and a surprise Mega-Evolved Pokémon will appear in Mega Raids.
As always, it’s possible that additional Battle Raids may show up as surprise events come and go throughout the coming month. Keep an eye on the nearby radar for anything particularly exciting or surprising as May kicks off next week. With multiple high profile events on the horizon, it’s very likely that some additional surprises bosses will swoop in. At this point there are no details about that May 15 surprise Mega Battle Raid Boss, but more details and hints should arrive in the coming weeks.
