Pokemon GO When Does the Unova Champion Throwback Challenge Start

After weeks of special tasks and tons of encounter rewards, the grand finale of Pokemon GO’s Throwback 2020 Celebration is almost here. As players wrap up the final pieces of the ongoing research storylines, it is time to start looking forward to the upcoming ticketed Special Research and the accompanying event.

The next, and final, phase of the super long Pokemon GO chain of events begins in early January. Some players who have completed all the preceding tasks on time will be able to gain access for free, but others will need to purchase a ticket to take part in the event. Either way, the first days of the challenge are right around the corner.

The upcoming Special Research sounds very exciting and is offering the chance to pick up some brand new Pokemon forms that have not been available in PoGO yet up to this point. The event kicks off on June 3 and runs through June 8, so players should start preparing now and make sure they have a few dollars set aside if they plan to purchase a ticket.

When is the Throwback Challenge Celebration 2020?

To purchase the Throwback Challenge Celebration 2020 Special Research, you must open Pokémon GO during the event from Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, June 8, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. in your local time zone. After you’ve received the Special Research, you can complete it at any time.

The ticket is US$7.99 plus taxes or fees (or the equivalent in your local currency) and can be purchased in the shop. The ticket cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.

Tickets can be purchased from when they go live until Monday, June 8, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. in your local time zone. Stay tuned for when tickets are available to purchase!

The ticket for this Special Research is nonrefundable. (Subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service.)

For now, players may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
