Who doesn’t remember Jigglypuff from the original Pokémon anime? A little pink Pokémon, just trying to make it out there with a song and a sharpie. Well, here’s the funny thing; Igglybuff, Jigglypuff’s pre-evolution, is actually a rarer find in Galar than its iconic counterpart.

If you’re looking to complete your Pokédex, here’s how to find Igglybuff in Isle of Armor, Pokémon Sword and Shield’s newest DLC.

How To Find Igglybuff

Players have a 16% chance of encountering Igglybuff in the Fields of Honor during normal weather. However, players who don’t feel like running around and hoping for a good encounter can simply catch a Jigglypuff or Wigglytuff and breed them. Any egg resulting from the union will hatch into an Igglybuff, which is an easy and surefire way to acquire the Pokémon, especially if you’ve moved backward through the evolutionary line and have already gotten your hands on a pair of Jigglypuffs or a Wigglytuff.

How To Evolve Igglybuff into Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff

Igglybuff, like several other Pokémon in the series, evolves after reaching a high friendship level, which is a secret stat that can be checked by telling a Pokémon to “Speak” in camp or by visiting an NPC in Hammerlocke. The NPCs are located in a house near the central Pokémon Center, and talking to the young boy of the bunch will give you an estimate of what level of friendship you have with your Pokémon.

Getting Igglybuff to a high friendship level will take some doing, but if you just don’t have time to do it the hard way, Jigglypuff can be found in the Fields of Honor and on Challenge Beach in all weather.

Evolving Jigglypuff to Wigglytuff is much less involved; simply grab a Moon Stone and hand it over! Wigglytuff can also be found in the Fields of Honor, Challenge Beach, Forest of Focus, and Soothing Wetlands as a static encounter during foggy weather.

How To Use Wigglytuff

Wigglytuff, being a Normal and Fairy-type Pokémon, has access to a wide spread of abilities. A good strategy is to use Wigglytuff as a leading Pokemon and have it set up Stealth Rock, as well as use Reflect and Light Screen to lower the opponent’s attack and raise Wigglypuff’s Special Defense. This will keep Wigglytuff on the field long enough for Stealth Rock to do its job, and for the more damage-heavy members of your team to clean up what’s left!
