Potential Pokemon GO Fest Leak Confirms Shiny Tangela Legendary Raids More

A series of images hinting at Pokemon GO Fest 2020 details has begun surfacing on Twitter, leading fans on a hunt for the source material. The pictures announce the arrival of Shiny Tangela and claim that rare Pokemon such as Gible and Snorlax will be available as part of GO Fest 2020.

Both of the images seem to originate from the same Japanese magazine, but posters have been unable to identify the publication in question. Leaks such as this one often come from the hyper-popular Japanese comics magazine, CoroCoro, but as of now, there’s no indication that’s the case for these Pokemon GO images.

The first of the two images depicts a Heatmor on the left, and gives general event information concerning tickets/timeframes at the top. The lower text states that rare Pokemon normally unavailable in Japan, like Heatmor, will have a chance of appearing during GO Fest. It also states that aside from that, a variety of surprises are being prepared for GO Fest.

The second image in circulation showcases three different sets of Pokemon that players can presumably expect to encounter at GO Fest:

  • “Usually Unavailable” Pokemon: Gible and Snorlax
  • Legendary Pokemon Found in Raids: Kyogre and Groudon
  • Pokemon Appearing as Shiny for the First Time: Tangela

Despite myriad comments asking for the actual source/name of the publication, the fact remains a mystery. That being said, these perks don’t seem particularly far-fetched, and considering that the images seem to be taken from a physical magazine, it would be quite the elaborate hoax if the pictures are indeed fake. Generally accepted unofficial Pokemon sources like Serebii.net have yet to comment on the leaks, which further fuels the speculation. Serebii often goes eerily silent during authentic leaks, so as to leave Nintendo unprovoked.

If this leak is legitimate, it would mean that fans who were bummed out by the Pokemon GO Fest puzzle can look forward to another rare opportunity to snag a Shiny Kyogre, Groudon, or Gible. Furthermore, if fans in Japan can expect rare foreign Pokemon, like Heatmor, it stands to reason that players in other countries can expect a chance at valuable regional Pokemon themselves.

As the Pokemon GO Fest 2020 datamines and leaks come pouring in, fans await their first 100% virtual Pokemon GO Fest. After nearly 2 months of Team GO Rocket themed events and bonuses, players are itching for a new sort of challenge. The casual pace of Weekly GO Fest Research Challenges is starting to grow stale for some, and considering that this year’s GO Fest has already undergone so much change, players just want to know if they should be getting ready for an adorable new Mythical Pokemon or not.

Pokemon GO is available now on the App Store and Google Play.
