To take out the Archaean parasite, your Operators are going to need the absolute best equipment. Thankfully, it seems like a lot of money was pumped into creating the high-tech REACT organization of Rainbow Six Extraction. A lot of those funds seem to have been spent on researching and developing doodads and gadgets that either hurt the Archies or help the Operators survive in the harshest of environments.

All of these gadgets have their uses, but it’s undeniable that some are way better than others. After experimenting with all of the REACT tech available in Extraction, we’ve determined which equipment is the best to take out into incursions and which you should leave behind.

21 Explosive Harness

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

The Explosive Harness increases the number of explosives you can carry by 3. It’s nice to have more things to throw, but you’ll likely be able to restock your supply of grenades via the many supply crates throughout a level. Not having any more throwables can be an inconvenience, but it’s not a death sentence. Thus, this gets placed at the bottom of the list as it’s simply not an essential piece of equipment.

20 Recon Drone

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

When you first start Extraction, the Recon Drone is one of the few gadgets you’ll have access to. You drive it around the level and can manually scan anything you come across. Since you’re doing all the scanning yourself you can miss out on certain enemies, items, or other important info, which makes this a rather lackluster recon device.

19 Scan Mine

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

The Scan Mine scans any Archie that enters into its 6-meter radius. It can be acquired once you reach Tech Tier 1, so it’s fine as an early-game recon gadget. However, it soon gets outclassed by much better tech that’s far more effective at scanning your surroundings.

18 Glue Grenade

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

As you might suspect from its name, the Glue Grenade unleashes some sticky glue that constricts the movement of enemies. This slows down your targets so you can take them out easier. Not the worst thing to have on hand, but it pales in comparison to other throwable items that can do a similar and better job.

17 Ammo Satchel

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

Running out of ammo leaves you in a vulnerable position during incursions. This can happen, although there are plenty of ammo crates lying around that will let you replenish your bullets. If you’re truly worried about running dry, the Ammo Satchel will double the ammo for both your primary and secondary weapons. But again, you should be able to restock your guns while out in the field as long as your teammates don’t hog all the supplies for themselves.

16 Fragmentation Grenade

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

Ah, the old reliable Fragmentation Grenade. If you just want a classic grenade that you can cook, throw, and do a fair amount of damage, then this will do the trick. However, the Archaeans move pretty quickly. Since this thing takes a bit to explode, your target may end up running past it as they race toward you unless you time it just right. It’s also pretty loud making it a poor choice for any objective that favors a stealthy approach.

15 Claymore

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

Another classic FPS explosive. Place these Claymores down, and they’ll blow up any enemy that triggers them. Not a bad option per se, but there are better gadgets that can help you defend an objective.

14 Body Armor

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

While the 20% damage reduction that Body Armor gives you is nice and all, it doesn’t make a dramatic difference. You’ll be able to take a few more hits, but if you go down, this equipment disappears. Other pieces of tech will benefit you and your team more than being a bit sturdier. Besides, you could always play as Rook if you really want some armor.

13 Stun Grenades

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

Does exactly what it says on the label. Throw them and they’ll stun Archies. Useful if you need to stop a horde of stampeding enemies or if you want to incapacitate a target for a takedown kill. The only downside is that it takes a few seconds to go off, and it only gives you a short window to do what you need to do. It does an adequate job, but it isn’t quite as good as other throwable items.

12 Impact Grenade

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

The Impact Grenade may be a little less impactful than the Fragmentation Grenade, but it doesn’t require any cooking to use. Just throw it at your target, and it explodes upon making contact. Therefore, it’s a bit more useful than a frag and gets bumped up a few notches on this list as a result.

11 Anabolic Accelerant

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

This is the only item that will allow you to boost your health after you take damage. This means you don’t have to rely on finding medkits or the healing ability of other Operators. Pretty helpful to you, although it does only give you 50 additional hit points, and you get those slowly instead of an immediate boost. It also doesn’t do much to assist your team other than keeping you alive.

10 Nitro Cell

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

If you want something with some real power, then you’re going to like the Nitro Cell. It’s essentially a C4 explosive. Stick it to a wall and then detonate it when something walks into its radius. It’s not the quietest thing you can have in your arsenal, but it will vaporize a horde.

9 Field Wall

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

Spikers and Tormentors can easily take your team down with their projectiles. But if you have a Field Wall handy, you can block those shots and neutralize their offense. What’s even better is that it doesn’t affect your team’s bullets, so you can shoot them but they can’t shoot you. The Field Wall can be a lifesaver when dealing with incoming enemy fire, although if you happen to load into an incursion without enemies who use ranged attacks this item can seem a little redundant.

8 Paralysis Grenade

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

Enemies can arrive in great numbers and overwhelm your whole squad. The Paralysis Grenade can help you in a situation like this as you can temporarily paralyze Archies so that you can take them out or make a hasty retreat. It also detonates upon impact making it better than the standard Stun Grenade. It’s a great way to deal with hordes and works on some of the tougher enemies like Tormentors too.

7 Recon Vapor Device

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

The Recon Vapor Device emits mist that will scan any enemies that walk into it for 45 seconds. A damn fine way to know what’s coming, although it does take a few seconds to activate.

6 Scan Grenades

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

Scan Grenades may not be as effective at scanning as Recon Vapor Devices, but they’re faster at scanning around for enemies as they begin looking the instant that they land. The few seconds that Recon Vapor takes to get up and running can make a huge difference. That being said, Scan Grenades are active for less time than Recon Vapor Devices. Depending on whether you prefer a longer scan duration or immediate scanning, you could swap Scan Grenades’ position on this list with Recon Vapor.

5 Arc Mine

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

If you need to defend an area, you’re going to want to have the Arc Mine in your loadout. It’s a forward-blasting mine that can wipe out packs of angry Archies. It’s undeniably the best defensive explosive. It’s like the Claymore on steroids.

4 Smoke Grenade

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

Along with the Recon Drone, this is one of the first gadgets you’ll have access to when you begin the game. Yet, despite that fact, this explosive is somehow better than a lot of the stuff you can unlock later. The smoke it produces can allow you to move around safely. These can also be thrown at Archies who have spotted you to obscure their vision, which gives you an opening to perform a takedown kill. For certain objective types, Smoke Grenades can be a godsend. Not bad for an early-game item.

3 REACT Laser

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

It feels like a cheat to include this as a piece of REACT Tech since it’s technically a gun attachment. However, it’s unlocked once you reach Tech Tier 5, so we’re going to stick it on this list anyway. This laser can be switched on instead of your UV flashlight, and it’ll burn away any Sprawl that’s on the ground or walls. This means that you won’t have to spend any more bullets to clear that sticky goo. Considering how much that crap slows you down, the REACT Laser is an essential tool for survival. It’s just a shame that it takes you so long to finally unlock it.

2 Revive Kit

Rainbow Six Extraction All Of The REACT Tech Ranked

Let’s face it, your teammates aren’t always going to be able to pick you up when you get knocked down. With the Revive Kit equipped, you can revive yourself when you take too much damage. This can make a huge difference during difficult incursions. It should also be a mandatory part of your loadout if you attempt any solo missions. It’s quite literally a lifesaver.
