The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Nene Leakes has announced she is going to be given her own show on the E! network. There has been speculation for months but now it’s confirmed that the rumors were true.

Reality TV viewers were wondering why Leakes had yet to sign The Real Housewives of Atlanta contract. Viewers are worried the OG of Atlanta may say goodbye to the franchise forever. Leakes has always been at the forefront of most of the drama that has conspired within the show. The entire last season she told cameras she was a changed woman who was finding her own inner peace. She no longer wanted to be combative with the other women. Rumors have been swirling around the peach having been fired, but she claims it just is not true.

Big news out of the Bravo clubhouse where Leakes has announced she has signed a deal to star in her own show on the E! network. Instagram account @Realhousewivesfranchise shared the good news with fans. The show is said to be titled Glamsquad Showdown. The series will be produced by Shed Media with Dan Peirson serving as the executive producer. Glamsquad Showdown will be a comedic beauty competition series that is aiming to shed the spotlight on the best celebrity hair and makeup squads. Check out the Instagram post below:

The once-proud peach will be hosting the gig with Brad Goreski. The show is set to take place weekly with two celebrity friends entering their glam teams of hair, makeup, and wardrobe consultants. The teams will each show off their skills on a makeover subject. They will go head-to-head during two challenges. The squads will pull contestants out of the live studio audience for makeovers as well. The end goal is to be able to win ultimate bragging rights that include prize money for the charity of their choice.

Fans who have followed the story know Leakes had been offered a contract by Bravo but waited to sign it. Leakes’ manager had spoken out, revealing that she is holding out for a bigger project. The mother of two wanted to land a big deal and to be paid what she feels she was worth. Holding out for bigger and better seems to have done the trick as she will finally be standing in the spotlight, a moment she has yearned for since starting on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
