Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Venus Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Sailor Moon and the Sailor Scouts are some of the most popular manga and anime characters in the world. For almost three decades, fans have been thrilling to their adventures. Some fans forget this but Sailor Venus actually appeared before Sailor Moon and the rest, in a defunct manga magazine called Run Run. A powerful fighter, Sailor Venus was all ready to defend her friends and the galaxy.

Since the late ’90s, Pokémon has taken the world by storm and its popularity has shown no signs of slowing down. Right when people have thought they’ve caught them all, another generation is released and the quest begins all over again. If Sailor Moon were to battle against Pokémon, which ones would she defeat? Which ones would defeat her?

10 Could Defeat: Meowth

Meowth is a Normal-type Pokémon. There are a couple of variations of it with different types in different regions, but they all love shiny things. One look at Sailor Venus’s shiny Star Power Stick would draw a Meowth to her but it wouldn’t be able to take it from her.

Meowth’s attacks are mostly related to its claws and teeth. Sailor Venus would be able to avoid its attacks and hit it back with one of her powerful energy attacks, taking it down.

9 Would Lose To: Kyurem

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Venus Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Kyurem is a Legendary Dragon/Ice-type Pokémon. According to folklore, Kyurem is an extraterrestrial Pokémon and is known for being hostile towards other Pokémon and humans. Sailor Venus has dealt with some powerful monsters in her day, but Kyurem would spell her doom.

Kyurem’s ability to fly would allow it to avoid Sailor Venus’s attacks and its powerful ice attacks would give it a huge advantage over her. Able to strike quickly from the air, it would be able to freeze Sailor Venus before she even knew what was going on.

8 Could Defeat: Snorlax

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Venus Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

A Normal-type Pokémon, Snorlax is big and powerful… but also chronically lazy, enjoying sleeping much more than fighting. As tough as they are, though, Sailor Venus would be able to defeat a Snorlax. They’re just too slow to deal with her and her powerful offense.

Snorlax could definitely do some damage to Sailor Venus if it could hit her, but she’s not going to make the mistake of letting that happen. She’ll keep moving, running circles around it, hitting it constantly with her energy attacks until it goes down.

7 Would Lose To: Xerneas

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Venus Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Xerneas is a Legendary Fairy-type Pokémon. Extremely powerful, Xerneas is known to turn into a tree if it expends too much energy and is the only Pokémon that can learn Geomancy. As powerful as Sailor Venus is, she would be hard-pressed to defeat Xerneas.

Xerneas is able to heal its wounds in battle and this would make it difficult for Sailor Venus to do any lasting damage to Xerneas. It, however, could hurt her. It might take a bit but Xerneas would defeat her.

6 Could Defeat: Delibird

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Venus Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Delibird is a Flying/Ice-type Pokémon. Known for carrying large quantities of food, they’ll share it with lost humans. While its flight gives it a lot of mobility and its ice powers are nothing to scoff at, Delibird just doesn’t have what it takes to beat Sailor Venus.

Sailor Venus might get taken in by its cuteness at first but after its first attack, she would kick it into gear and hit Delibrid with her powerful energy attacks. It might take her a bit because of its flight ability, but she would win the battle.

5 Would Lose To: Lunala

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Venus Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Lunala is a Psychic/Ghost-type Pokémon. Said to travel between worlds, Lunala eats light and draws the moonless darkness over the day. That’s a problem for Sailor Venus, as most of her offensive options involve light-based attacks. Lunala can absorb those attacks and enter its full moon phase, becoming even more dangerous.

Every attack Sailor Venus threw at Lunala would make it stronger, and by the time she realized this, it would be too late. Once Lunala enters its full moon phase, the fight will be over for Sailor Venus.

4 Could Defeat: Throh

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Venus Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

A Fighting-type Pokémon, Throh is known for getting in close to its opponents and throwing them around. Sailor Venus has been fighting evil for a long time, so the minute something in a karate gi comes at her, she’s not going to let it get close enough to her to do anything.

Sailor Venus can easily keep Throh at bay with her energy attacks, preventing it from getting any strikes in. As strong as Throh is, there’s nothing it can do if it doesn’t get in close. Sailor Venus easily wins this one.

3 Would Lose To: Mewtwo

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Venus Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

A Psychic-type Pokémon, Mewtwo was created in a lab to be one of the most powerful Pokémon of them all. Cold and calculating, Mewtwo is known for relentlessly attacking its foes with powerful psychic attacks. Sailor Venus would have no defense against these mighty attacks and that would be bad news for her.

Mewtwo can protect itself from Sailor Venus’s attacks with powerful force fields, preventing her from doing any damage to it. Mewtwo would be able to hit her a lot, using its psychic skills in cruelly inventive ways.

2 Could Defeat: Pikachu

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Venus Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

One of the most popular Pokémon of them all, the Electric-type Pokémon Pikachu is the mascot of the whole thing. While Pikachu is very powerful and lightning fast, it doesn’t really bring anything to the fight that Sailor Venus hasn’t faced before.

Pikachu would definitely be able to get some powerful attacks in on Sailor Venus but her counterattacks would be way too much for Pikachu to handle. It would be able to avoid some of her attacks, but she would eventually prove too much for Pikachu.

1 Would Lose To: Arceus

Arceus is a Normal-type Mythical Pokémon and is probably the most powerful of them all. Said to have been responsible for the creation of the world, it can control the flow of time, repair any damage instantly, and basically do whatever it needs to do. Sailor Venus has never faced a being as powerful as Arceus.

Sailor Venus is powerful but Arceus is next level. Try as she might, she just couldn’t take down the powerful Pokémon. It just has way too many attack options that she can’t defend against.
