However, Evior can also wield the hidden blades during combat, making it more like the original games in the series. All the player has to do is unequip a weapon or shield from their secondary hand slot. Some older Assassin’s Creed fans enjoy playing the game as traditionally as possible, and this mechanic sparks nostalgia for those who remember combat in the older titles. So, if gamers wish to play the story in a more assassin-like style, they can try using the hidden blades as their secondary weapon.

Much like the hidden blade, the torch – as simple as it is – can be used to enhance the game’s story experience. There are countless moments when Evior must enter a dungeon or dark area, and the torch illuminates the environment; players can even use the torch to light other torches holders. Ubisoft developers built the world so that players could explore it as the 8th century Vikings might’ve. The crew members will even sing and tell stories while traveling to a destination point. Sometimes the stories fill in information about Evior’s past life in Norway. Using the Longship to travel in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a rewarding and satisfying experience to the game’s narrative; the player really feels like a Viking – seeking glory and raiding different parts of the English coast for loot.

While traveling through the northern forested lands, the Assassin Creed Blackflag soundtrack plays around two settlements: Tiotenontatierenhton and Nyhofn. Some have speculated that this has a deeper meaning and may have something to do with Evior’s resting place, but others speculate that it points to a future element of Assassin Creed games.

Asgard is another non-mandatory but crucial questline to the Assassin Creed Valhalla story. It shows the mythological culture and religious practices that Vikings knew at the time. When in Asgard, Evior meets the dwarf blacksmith Ivaldi. Though this information doesn’t change anything to the story, it makes for an intriguing Easter egg in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
