Paige DeSorbo’s noticeable absence from Hannah Berner’s engagement party had Summer House fans wondering if the two friends were still on good terms. But it looks like all is well between the pair despite Hannah’s recent show exit. The Bravo stars took to their podcast to clear up the rumors.
It’s nearing one month since Hannah took to Instagram to announce her exit from the show after three seasons. She had a rough time at the reunion show after getting called out by most of the cast. Her housemates had taken issue with the insensitive remarks she’s made about them on her podcast and some of the childish behavior she displayed during filming. The Berning in Hell host was brought to tears throughout the reunion and even stormed off stage after Luke Gulbranson downplayed their short-lived fling for the last time. Through it all, Hannah walked away to embark on her comedy career and prepare for her wedding to fellow comedian, Des Bishop.
Ahead of her upcoming nuptials, her family hosted an engagement party for the couple. But after Paige’s absence made the press, Hannah addressed the speculation on their Giggly Squad podcast. “We were on Page Six because of our last huge fight we got in, and by fight, I mean my engagement party,” Hannah said. Paige jokingly jumped in saying, “I’m so mad at you. … I wasn’t invited. I wasn’t invited.” The show alum went on to explain why Ciara Miller made the event but Paige didn’t. It turns out the whole engagement party was a surprise her family had planned for their trip to Shelter Island, New York.
Ciara had already reached out to Hannah to hang out and since they hadn’t seen each other in a while, Hannah invited her to tag along. Paige was traveling to South Carolina and couldn’t attend. But when the trip ended up including an engagement party, it looked like Ciara was invited while Paige wasn’t. “We were not told [this],” Hannah said of the party. “It was a lot of my parents’ friends and some of my local Shelter Island friends that I grew up with since I was born, and then I randomly brought Ciara,” she added.
Paige noted how “the internet went wild,” over her noticeable absence. But it was all just one big misunderstanding. The two are still going strong with their friendship. The Summer House cast for the new season hasn’t been announced, but it’s certain that Hannah won’t be back. She joked about wanting to hit the road and tell fart jokes instead of filming another season with some of her former friends.
