With Eternals now in theaters and the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home dropping later this week, the MCU is very much back in full swing. There will be a short hiatus once No Way Home has arrived, though. Dr. Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness was supposed to be here in March 2022 but was pushed back a few months along with most of the MCU projects that will follow it.

One of the few upcoming MCU installments not affected by Disney’s latest wave of delays was Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3. Jame Gunn’s next major Marvel project is still slated to be here by May 2023, and filming has now begun on the blockbuster. It has also been confirmed that Sylvester Stallone will be reprising his role as Stakar Ogord.

Stallone shared a video from the set over the weekend. The actor is sitting inside a machine that is used to capture his other actors’ facial expressions. Those expressions can then be used should changes need to be made in post-production and the actor isn’t available. Stallone has since followed up on the video with a photo of himself back in his Ravager costume.

Stallone plays Stakar Ogord, a leader of a Ravager group in the MCU. Yondu, the blue guy who raised Peter Quill, was also a Ravager. However, in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, it was revealed that there are multiple ravager groups working across the galaxy. Spoiler alert, although Yondu died at the end of the last Guardians movie, Stallone’s return implies Ravagers will continue to play a part in the movies going forward.

It’s also possible she may not be allowed back to the US depending on her vaccination status.
