It’s a beloved sitcom but what are the chances of a That ’70s Show reboot coming together? That ’70s Show followed a group of Wisconsin teenagers coming of age during the 1970s. The series featured a line-up of future stars, including Ashton Kutcher, Laura Prepon, Topher Grace, and Mila Kunis, and their chemistry together made it a huge success. It became so big the showrunners had to start fudging the timeline of the decade to make it last longer, which led to unique issues like five Christmas episodes happening within a four-year timespan.

The careers of the main cast started taking off in a big way before That ’70s Show ended, with both Grace and Kutcher departing around season 8, though both returned for the finale. There were attempts at spinoffs too, including That ’80s Show, which featured an early lead role for It’s Always Sunny In Philidelphia’s Glenn Howerton; poor reviews and ratings saw it end after a season. Over a decade after it ended That ’70s Show still feels as popular as it ever was, which is largely thanks to its availability on streaming platforms like Netflix.

Given That ’70s Show evergreen status rumors of a reboot/reunion crop up occasionally, but is it likely to happen?

Topher Grace Would Love A That ’70s Show Reboot

One cast member who would be down for a That ’70s Show reboot is Topher Grace, who whenever asked by outlets like THR basically says the same thing; making the show was one of the best times of his life and he would love to work with the cast again. That said, he seems doubtful it would happen either.

Most Of The Cast Doubt That ’70s Show Will Return

While Grace appears down for more of That ’70s Show, there’s a lot of naysayers from the cast. Both Mila Kunis and Laura Prepon have a lot of love for the show but feel it was such a unique time it would be hard to go back and replicate it. Wilmer Valderrama, who played Fez, thinks that since That ’70s Show is still so popular on streaming there’s not much point in bringing it back. They also point out the obvious issue that it couldn’t be set in the 1970s anymore – the show literally ends on the last second of the decade – and the 1990s would be the most logical setting for a reunion.

A That ’70s Show Movie Is Possible

Wilmer Valderrama revealed in a Movie Web interview the cast have had conversations about a That ’70s Show movie, which could take place in the late 1980s or 1990s. There don’t appear to be any solid plans for one, however, though if a reunion happened this could be the most likely scenario.
