The 10 Weakest ElectricType Pokémon Ranked

Electric-type Pokémon have been around since generation 1, and although there have been a lot of powerful ones, there have also been a bunch that are very weak. This list will cover a few of the weaker Electric-type Pokémon that fans should steer clear of if they’re trying to beat the Pokémon league and win the game.

Hopefully, fans will learn about some weak Pokémon that they didn’t know existed and know which ones to ignore entirely after reading this list. From Pichu to Tynamo, here are 10 extremely weak Electric-type Pokémon!

10 Helioptile

The 10 Weakest ElectricType Pokémon Ranked

This creature is adorable without a doubt, but that doesn’t translate very well to its strength. Helioptile is a Pokémon from generation 6, and although it’s not very powerful itself, its evolution does make up for that to a slight extent.

Helioptile can employ moves such as thundershock and other weaker Electric-type moves, but otherwise, it just can’t hold up to stronger Electric-type Pokémon such as Raichu and Magnezone.

9 Pichu

The 10 Weakest ElectricType Pokémon Ranked

The series mascot Pikachu is both adorable and powerful, and it only gets cuter when it’s in its baby form Pichu. It has pointy ears and a very tiny body making it the ideal partner for a trainer that doesn’t care if their Pokémon is weak or not but only cares about the cuteness factor.

Pichu’s move set is tiny, and its stats are some of the lowest in the franchise, but it at least has to evolutions, so that makes up for some of its shortcomings. Fans should only catch this Pokémon if they are looking for an adorable partner!

8 Tynamo

The 10 Weakest ElectricType Pokémon Ranked

The evolutions of this generation 5 Pokémon are very powerful; however, it can’t do much in its current form. It does have a few powerful moves that it can learn, but its stats make it almost entirely useless in competitive battling.

Trainers traveling in the Unova region should stay away from this Pokémon if they’re looking to form a powerful team of creatures that they can use to fight in the league.

7 Morpeko

The 10 Weakest ElectricType Pokémon Ranked

Every generation has some kind of Pikachu clone, and this was generation 8’s version. Morpeko does have a unique move set and unusual mood swing abilities; however, otherwise, it isn’t worth catching for almost any trainer.

It’s disappointing to hear that this is a somewhat weak Pokémon because fans got a chance to become acquainted with it within the games, the rival character Marnie had one in her possession. However, unfortunately, it just can’t do much to damage other Pokémon, and its stats are very low.

6 Toxel

The 10 Weakest ElectricType Pokémon Ranked

Toxel is a baby Pokémon from generation 8, and fans love it for its unique design and dual typing. The only saving grace for this creature is the dual Poison/Electric-typing that it has and the fact that its evolution can make it somewhat stronger.

It’s worth noting that this creature is easily obtainable within Pokémon Sword and Shield because players can find it as a free egg if they go to the Pokémon daycare center early in the game. Toxel is easily obtainable, so it’s no surprise that it isn’t very powerful.

5 Mareep

The 10 Weakest ElectricType Pokémon Ranked

Everybody loves a sheep; however, this generation 2 creature isn’t one of the strongest in the region. Mareep can employ some powerful Electric-type attacks, but that doesn’t make it powerful as its stats are incredibly weak compared to most other Electric-types in the franchise.

However, it is worth catching for fans of powerful Electric-types because of its final evolution, Ampharos is one of the most powerful Pokémon in the Johto region, and it even has a Mega evolution!

4 Shinx

The 10 Weakest ElectricType Pokémon Ranked

Shinx is one of the cutest creatures in generation 4, and while that may be the case, that doesn’t make it powerful in the slightest. While its evolutions are stronger than this creature itself, they aren’t very powerful when compared to other Electric-type Pokémon.

Shinx is adorable, but it won’t do much to damage opponents in battle, so it’s probably worth passing on this Pokémon while traveling in the Sinnoh region.

3 Pachurisu

The 10 Weakest ElectricType Pokémon Ranked

There weren’t any squirrel Pokémon in the franchise before generation 4, and Pachurisu added a unique design to the somewhat stale rodent Pokémon that had been plaguing the franchise for generations.

Pachurisu is a fan favorite for players that grew up during generation 4, and it’s disappointing to learn that it’s not very powerful and doesn’t even have any evolutions to speak of. Pachurisu would be the perfect creature to get a new evolution in a future generation, but until then, fans shouldn’t be holding their breath.

2 Pincurchin

The 10 Weakest ElectricType Pokémon Ranked

Pinchurchin is one of the only Electric-type Pokémon added in generation 8, and that makes it somewhat of a rare sight, but it still isn’t strong at all. It’s lack of powerful evolutions, and low stats make it a perfect candidate to ignore while on Galar Pokémon adventure.

Fans never even consider this Pokémon because it isn’t worth much in battle, and there isn’t much use that they will get out of it other than on the first few gyms in Sword and Shield.

1 Elekid

It is evident within the name of this Pokémon that it isn’t going to be very powerful because it has the word kid right in it.

Elekid was a baby Pokémon added in generation 2, and it is practically useless unless a player is catching it so that they can obtain one of its more powerful evolutions. Elekid is an Electric-type that fans should completely steer clear of because it will have no use at all in competitive battles or even simple gym battles within the franchise.
