The 100 5 Best (& 5 Worst) Episodes of Season 6 According To IMDb

After all the trauma, war, and conflict of being on Earth, season six’s mission was to invent a new world and environment. Sanctum may appear peaceful, but look beneath the surface, and it is much more diabolical than anyone would know. The sixth season also takes an opportunity that no other had.

This is the first time that the main characters, specifically Clarke Griffin and Octavia Blake, were given a chance to look back on their previous choices. “Nevermind” uses its entire episode to make callbacks to Clarke’s past at Mount Weather, the City of Light, and more. Octavia gets the chance to confront Blodreina and understand the mistakes she made during her time in the bunker. However, they manage to balance that with the new environment of Sanctum, the Primes, and the mysterious Anomaly. These are the five best and five worst episodes of season six, according to IMDb.

10 Best: Sanctum (8.7)

The 100 5 Best (& 5 Worst) Episodes of Season 6 According To IMDb

The season premiere awakens the remaining main characters from cryo-sleep, bringing them up to date on Monty’s videos as they look out over their new home. While some flew down to the ground, others stayed on the Eligius ship. The first views of Sanctum are peaceful, especially since there is no one else around to attack them.

Even with it being one-hundred and twenty-five years since everyone had gone into cryo-sleep, the conflicts still exist among everybody. The season premiere does not erase the issues everyone had just because of the time jump, and “Sanctum” continually acknowledges that the hurt from everyone’s choices is still fresh.

9 Worst: Ashes To Ashes (8.6)

The 100 5 Best (& 5 Worst) Episodes of Season 6 According To IMDb

As the Children of Gabriel desire answers and want Josephine dead, they must find a way to unite to take down the Primes. Meanwhile, Bellamy and Octavia address their conflicts as Octavia wishes for redemption. Bellamy’s response to Octavia’s wishes is that while Octavia is his sister, she is no longer Bellamy’s responsibility. This is the first time that Bellamy would have said that about his sister.

In Sanctum, Echo reveals the truth about her childhood and given birth name. “Ashes to Ashes” shows that Echo’s real name was Ash, but she had taken her best friend’s name and job.

8 Best: The Face Behind The Glass (8.8)

The 100 5 Best (& 5 Worst) Episodes of Season 6 According To IMDb

As the Primes agree to have those from Earth stay in Sanctum, the group tries to understand Sanctum’s traditions. With Naming Day arriving, Jordan spends more time with Delilah, and she asks Jordan not to allow her to be a face behind the glass. Such a comment throws Jordan off, but when Delilah returns as Priya with no recollection of Jordan, he begins to understand that something is not right.

Clarke follows Sanctum’s traditions and takes the opportunity to give Bellamy and Raven apologies about her behavior during the battle for Shadow Valley. Unfortunately, things are not simple for Clarke after a party, and the episode ends with the re-birth of Josephine Lightbourne.

7 Worst: What You Take With You (8.6)

The 100 5 Best (& 5 Worst) Episodes of Season 6 According To IMDb

It’s a race against the clock as Bellamy drags Josephine through the woods. With time running low for Clarke and Jospehine’s shared mind space, Bellamy forges forward, determined to get to Gabriel and save Clarke. Just like anything else on The 100, the journey does not happen simply, and after getting captured, Josephine takes the chance to badger Bellamy about his relationship with Clarke.

There is also a featured moment of morse code, something Clarke realized she could do to gain partial control of her body during “Nevermind.” It also gives more understanding of how Josephine can give up control of their shared body to Clarke. Meanwhile, Octavia confronts her past actions and desires for redemption, as her greatest enemy takes the form of Blodreina. “What You Take With You” also concludes Kane’s story after Abby places him in a new body.

6 Best: Red Sun Rising (8.8)

The 100 5 Best (& 5 Worst) Episodes of Season 6 According To IMDb

As “Sanctum” ended, there was a hint as to what to expect from the red sun. From red sun and plants cause a reaction that makes animals and people attack each other. Although they handcuff themselves at first, that doesn’t last long. Quickly, feelings escalate as everyone feels the effects of the toxin. Murphy remains the only member of the group to be unaffected, but while nearly everyone else attacks each other, Clarke is a danger to herself.

In Bellamy’s rage, he attacks Murphy, nearly killing him. When Murphy wakes up, he believes he has seen Hell.

5 Worst: The Old Man and the Anomaly (8.5)

The 100 5 Best (& 5 Worst) Episodes of Season 6 According To IMDb

With Josephine’s discovery that Clarke is still alive, and that their cohabitation would cause severe issues for them both, Josephine enacts a plan to use an EMP to remove Clarke and kill her. Getting Murphy and Emori on her side, Josephine also uses Ryker to help develop the machine to get rid of Clarke.

However, Emori can not go through with it and reveals to Bellamy that Josephine plans to kill Clarke immediately. Elsewhere, Octavia follows Diyoza into the Anomaly and returns to Gabriel completely healed, and with no memory of the events that occurred while she was gone.

4 Best: Adjustment Protocol (8.9)

The 100 5 Best (& 5 Worst) Episodes of Season 6 According To IMDb

3 Worst: Memento Mori (8.5)

The 100 5 Best (& 5 Worst) Episodes of Season 6 According To IMDb

After getting caught by Bellamy during “The Gospel of Josephine,” Josephine takes matters into her own hands by having Murphy teach her how to be Clarke Griffin. Yet, even with Murphy’s help, Josephine still struggles to understand how to be Clarke. While Murphy had taught Josephine the right moments to reference to get her way, Josephine does not quite grasp Clarke’s identity.

However, her promise of immortality is tempting for Murphy, so even knowing that it may be wrong, he takes Josephine up on her offer. By the end of “Memento Mori,” several others learn that Josephine has body-snatched Clarke.

2 Best: The Gospel of Josephine (9.0)

The 100 5 Best (& 5 Worst) Episodes of Season 6 According To IMDb

With the Primes desperate for Nightbloods to ensure their continuing immortality, Russell asks Josephine to pretend to be Clarke as a way to infiltrate the group and gain information about how many other Nightbloods there are. While Josephine believes pretending to be Clarke would be easy, everything Josephine does contradicts who Clarke Griffin is.

From personality differences, life experience, and attitude, Josephine is not Clarke, and her actions set off suspicions every time she opens her mouth. Whether it is allowing Madi to go to school, using the phrase “chill out” or calling Murphy “John,” it is clear that Josephine did not have enough information to go on to be convincing.

1 Worst: The Blood of Sanctum (8.4)

The season finale ranks as the worst, according to IMDb. While “The Blood of Sanctum” does handle remaining conflicts and leaves a few cliffhangers for the final season, it was not a favorite episode. “The Blood of Sanctum” was not an action-heavy episode as nearly every massive event that the finale relies on occurs during the penultimate episode, “Adjustment Protocol.”

Clarke spends the majority of the time pretending to be Josephine while struggling to deal with her mother being replaced by Simone Prime. Meanwhile, Bellamy handles the outcome of the red sun toxin causing the people of Sanctum to attack themselves and each other.
