Between his relationship choices, the way he treats his so-called friends, and his education history, the are so many unpopular opinions about the polarizing character.

10 Amy And Howard Had More Chemistry Than Any Actual Couple

Howard and Bernadette get on very well and they’re almost perfect together. And the same can be said for Amy and Sheldon, as the two personalities are almost identical.

But a small minority believe that Amy and Howard ended up with the wrong people and that they should have become a couple. To the user’s credit, the duo has had some great moments as friends, they had a great partnership in the lab, and she even loved his magic.

And though she did practically turn in to his mother, and she even adopted the same throaty scream that his off-screen mom had too, there are so many moments when she has been more supportive of him than anyone else on the show.

8 Howard Is The Funniest Character

Though there isn’t much explanation as to why, one Redditor argues that Howard is by far the funniest character of the show. However, though Howard is far from the most hated character of the long-running sitcom, he’s also far from being considered the outright funniest.

But the user doesn’t stop there, as they continue by saying that following Howard, Bernadette and Penny are the second and third funniest characters, which is even hotter of an unpopular opinion.

7 Howard Being Less Creepy In Season 3 Ruined The Charm

Bernadette was introduced in season 3, and one user claims that was not so coincidentally when Howard lost his charm. What makes Howard unique from the other science-obsessed, comic book loving nerds was the way he was so overly confident, but inadvertently came across as creepy.

For the most part, that personality trait was smoothed out in the later seasons. Though the user thinks that ruined Howard, it made him much more interesting, as he developed his career and went to space, making him more than just the one-dimensional creep.

6 Raj And Howard Should Have Been A Couple

There are so many great bromances in sitcoms, whether it’s JD and Turk in Scrubs or Troy and Abed in Community, but one of the best is Raj and Howard. The pair always show concern for each other and support each other in their family lives, which is what has led a select few wanting them to become a couple.

But guys can be best friends and care for each other without having to be romantically involved with each other, and Raj and Howard just didn’t need to go there, evne if it made sense in some ways.

Though he isn’t the funniest character in the series, he’s also far from the worst. But though his misogynistic outlook might have been annoying in earlier seasons, it was smoothed out and almost entirely erased from his character by the time season 12 came around.

4 He’s Too Mean To Raj

This Redditor explains that Howard is way too mean to Raj, and that’s mostly due to the fact that Howard constantly mocks him for being overly effeminate and Indian.

And though that is true, as there have been other petty moments, such as when he made Raj lose the kite competition, Raj often gives it back as good as he gets. Raj can always be seen in bed with Bernadette, and he even embarrassed Howard by telling everyone at his bachelor party about a threesome they once had together. If anything, both of the characters are just as mean as each other.

3 The Jokes About Howard’s Education Are Pointless

One of the longest-running gags in The Big Bang Theory is how Howard is the only one in the group who doesn’t have a doctorate, as the highest order of education he has is a master’s. However, this user doesn’t find it as funny as everybody else, as they claim a Ph.D. is useless in an engineer’s career.

And though the character did eventually pursue a doctorate, which would be required if he wanted to teach, Howard really didn’t need it in his field of work.

Along with the running gag of Howard’s education, another joke that is repeated in almost every episode is regarding Howard’s height, as he’s so much shorter than the rest of the gang. Along with being annoyed by the recurring jokes about Raj being lonely and Leonard being socially awkward, this Redditor complains that there are way too many jokes about Howard being short.

But while there are loads of jokes about the matter, it’s very much a trope of the genre, and that kind of thing happens in every single sitcom there is.

1 Bernadette Marrying Howard Was Unrealistic

One of the sweetest and most surprising moments of the show came when Howard proposed to Bernadette in season 4, but it came as an even bigger surprise to some that she actually said yes. A small minority of fans believe that there is no way any woman would have ever fallen for someone as immature, selfish, and misogynistic as Howard.

And not only do they think that the two characters getting engaged and then married was totally unrealistic, but they argue that Bernadette’s introduction was when the show jumped the shark too.
