If you’re a bounty hunter in the Star Wars galaxy, you’re going to need every tool at your disposal. Whether it’s a rival trying to steal your bounty or the charge of a terrifying alien creature, there are threats around every turn in that line of work. One bounty hunter with no shortage of useful items is Din Djarin himself of The Mandalorian.

Joining the likes of Batman and James Bond, Pedro Pascal’s iconic character is one of the most recognizable gadget-aficionados on screen. Like other Mandalorians, Din’s outfit allows him to bring weapons and tools wherever he goes. Mando’s collection has grown impressively over the course of the show’s two seasons.

10 Flamethrower

A common gadget among Mandalorians first used on-screen by Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones, the flame thrower is a supplement to Mando’s gear and usually not the first choice when in combat. He actually has two flame throwers, one in the vambrace of each arm.

Ineffective against the mudhorn, the flamethrower has never-the-less come to rack up a few stormtrooper kills thanks to its impressive range. It has proven to be a valuable weapon for Mando by surprising enemies and buying valuable seconds in close fights, namely against the dark trooper in the season 2 finale.

9 Repulsorlift

It would be a mistake to overlook the value of this hovering baby carriage. This repulsorlift allowed baby Grogu to accompany Din Djarin on excursions without being a burden. Din found Grogu in it when they first met. It could automatically follow the Mandalorian wherever he went and could even be remotely controlled by Din.

Safe and durable, it had a button that Grogu could push to close the blast shield himself. During their time on the moon of Trask, Grogu and the pod were swallowed by a sea creature called a mamacore. The pod was partially smashed, but Grogu remained safe inside.

8 Carbon Freeze Chamber

The first on-screen depiction of carbon-freezing in The Empire Strikes Back suggested that carbon freezing was an expensive process requiring a huge facility. But, The Mandalorian changed all that with a convenient carbon freeze chamber inside the Razor Crest.

In the premiere episode of the first season, the Mythrol played by Horatio Sanz discovered Mando’s other bounties encased in carbonite while sneaking around the Razor Crest. Just seconds later, Din showed up and gave him the Han Solo treatment, too. Sadly, the Razor Crest and its chamber are no more, having been destroyed by Gideon’s Cruiser.

7 IB-94 Blaster Pistol

No bounty hunter is complete without a good blaster at their hip. Din Djarin keeps an IB-94 in his holster. The blaster has come to Din’s aid time and again against everything from an army of stormtroopers to a nest of ice spiders.

Like the gunslingers of great western films, Din is quick on the draw, as demonstrated with his encounter with Michael Biehn’s Lang. The design and name of the blaster are inspired by the real-life Bergman M1894 pistol.

6 Amban Sniper Rifle

Din has called this versatile rifle part of his religion and has used it to disintegrate foes near and far. The uniquely designed weapon traces its roots to the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special where Boba Fett used one during the animated segment.

Like the bayoneted guns of Earth’s past, this rifle also has a special use in close combat. The end of the rifle features a taser which can be used to zap foes with bolts of electricity. This function has come in handy for Mando in encounters with a ravinak and a krayt dragon.

5 Whistling Birds

A gadget bestowed upon Mando by the Armorer in the third episode of the show, the whistling birds are a great way to get out of a pinch. What makes this gadget so useful is that Din can activate them with just the flick of the wrist and his enemies are none the wiser until it’s too late.

The device on his gauntlet launches tiny rockets that seek out targets. They have been used to great effect by Din, whether by dropping a group of enemies who had the upper hand, or buying a few precious seconds in a scuffle against a deadly dark trooper.

4 Beskar Armour

As payment for delivering baby Grogu to Werner Herzog’s character The Client, The Mandalorian received over twenty bars of rare Beskar. The bars were then forged into armor pieces by the Armorer on Nevarro, completing Din’s Mandalorian armor. The highly-valuable armor has come to draw a lot of attention to Mando, with numerous thugs trying to take it for themselves.

Extremely durable, the helmet took seven punches from a Terminator-like dark trooper without even a dent. The helmet, which Din can never remove in front of another living thing, also has a heads up display with imaging and audio features. The armor has come to save Din Djarin’s life on several occasions, blocking the deadly lightsaber attacks of Ahsoka Tano and Moff Gideon.

3 Beskar Staff

Made from a rare metal that is impervious to lightsabers, the beskar staff is one of Mando’s most valuable possessions. Originally belonging to Morgan Elsbeth, the magistrate of Calodan on the fourth planet of Corvus. She had initially offered it to Din if he could kill Ahsoka Tano, but she had to use it to face off with the former Jedi herself.

After defeating Elsbeth, Tano gifted the staff to Din, insisting that it belonged with a Mandalorian. Din would go on to use the staff to defeat a Darksaber-wielding Moff Gideon.

2 Jetpack

Jetpacks have been an essential piece of the Mandalorian look since the introduction of Boba Fett in the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special, but it wasn’t until the season one finale that the Armorer bestowed one on to Din Djarin. The new gadget paid immediate dividends for Mando, playing a pivotal role in his takedown of Moff Gideon’s Tie Fighter.

It has since been used to great effect by the bounty hunter, with highlights including a fight against a huge krayt dragon and the raid of an imperial cruiser mid-flight. Din also used the remote control function to hilariously outsmart a would-be thief on Tatooine

1 The Darksaber

Acquired by Din in the final episode of season two, the unique thin black-bladed Darksaber is one of the most infamous relics in all of Star Wars. Created by a Mandalorian Jedi of eons past, the weapon became important to Mandalorian politics and heritage.

Moff Gideon wielded the weapon but lost it through combat to Din Djarin aboard Gideon’s light cruiser. This caught the ire of Bo-Katan Kryze, who wanted the saber herself so she can retake Mandalore. Bo-Katan refused to accept it unless won through combat, teasing a possible showdown between the two in the future.
