With chapter nine, “The Marshal,” fans have been thrust back into the Galaxy far, far away, and back into one of the best things to happen to the Star Wars franchise, perhaps ever, The Mandalorian. The episode was phenomenal and certainly was worth the year’s wait for the series to return.

It had so much brilliant stuff and introduced a lot of terrific things into the show that will be critical going forward. While it gave way for a lot of excitement in the upcoming episodes, that also means that a lot of questions were raised, questions fans want answers to, and that may (hopefully) get answered in the episodes to come.

9 What Is R5’s Story?

R5-D4, who has also gone by the names Red and Skippy over the years, was the droid whose bad motivator made Luke and Uncle Owen purchase R2-D2 in A New Hope.

Much to some fan’s surprise, R5 appears again in Chapter 9, under the ownership of Peli Motto in her hangar. This answered the fan question of if he was ever repaired, but there is nearly a decade between A New Hope and The Mandalorian, so what is R5s story? Did he go straight to Peli, or is there more of a line of sales and trades after the Jawas got him?

8 Will There Be Peace Between The Mos Pelgo Townspeople & The Sand People?

One of the most interesting aspects of the episode was the exploration of the Sand People, with Mando being the protagonist who actually has taken time to understand and learn about these people who are simply protecting and living on their land.

The townsfolk of Mos Pelgo are forced to work with the Sand People to eliminate the Krayt Dragon, and it’s making viewers wonder about the more “regular people” aspect of Star Wars. Will the Sand People live in harmony with Cobb and the people of Mos Pelgo, or was this episode a one-off event, and the two will go back to disliking one another?

7 When Will Cobb Vanth Come Back & Why?

Canon junkies rejoiced but were obviously skeptical of the rumors of Cobb Vanth coming into The Mandalorian, with Timothy Olyphant rumored to play the character, but with his appearance in Chapter Nine, that suspicion became pure joy.

He was great in the episode, perfect for both canon junkies and casual viewers. He and Mando form mutual respect and liking for one another throughout the episode, and by the end of it, Vanth and Din agree that they hope their paths cross again. With the final reveal and a long future ahead for the show, the question now is when Vanth will return and why?

6 What Will Mando Do With Boba’s Armor?

At the end of the episode, Cobb Vanth hands over Boba Fett’s Mandalorian armor to Din, with that being the deal if Mando helps Vanth eliminate the Krayt Dragon that has terrorized Mos Pelgo.

So with Mando in possession of the iconic armor, what will he do with it? It seems clear Boba will be coming after it, but will Mando try to give it to the Armorer? Or keep it on his ship? Or even try to find the Mandalorian whom it belongs to?

5 How Did Boba Survive & Why Doesn’t He Have His Armour?

Speaking of Boba Fett, at the end of the episode, Temura Morrison appears looking over Mando, playing the iconic character who has been heavily rumored to appear in the show over the past few months.

His appearance raises the obvious question of how he survived the Sarlacc Pit, how he got out of the stomach of that beast. On top of that, there is the question of what happened to his armor, since he was wearing it when swallowed by the pit. Did Jawas steal it from Boba or the pit, or did Boba leave it behind?

4 Is Boba Hunting Mando Or His Armour?

Boba has clearly been living or has been stranded on Tatooine for the past five years, but considering it was most likely him in the first season as the mysterious pair of boots, it is unclear what he is hunting.

It seems as though if he was caught up with finding his armor, he could have tracked Vanth down at Mos Pelgo, but with the first season and this appearance where he looks over Mando, it seems as though Boba could be tracking Din or even the Child.

3 Does Din Know Whose Armor That Is?

Immediately when Vanth appears in the episode, Mando takes issue with his ownership of Mandalorian armor, and as such, wants it back, eventually doing so by making a deal with Vanth.

But, with Boba Fett being one of the most famous bounty hunters of all time, and one who wears Mandalorian armor but is, in fact, not really a Mandalorian, does Din recognize it? Or does he know who Boba Fett is?

2 Will He Face-Off With Cobb Vanth?

With so many rumored characters and only eight episodes in the season, many fans have speculated over which characters are going to have run-ins with other characters.

Since Vanth was in possession of Boba’s armor, it begs the question of if Fett will go to Vanth for a confrontation or for information on Mando. As well as that, there is Ahsoka, Rex, and Bo-Katan, who are all rumored characters that would make for excellent confrontations with Fett, obviously as long as it sticks to the Mando story and does not just put fan service in the way of storytelling.

1 Will Boba Get His Hands On Mando, The Child, Or The Darksaber?

Of course, when talking about the story of the show and how Boba Fett could naturally play into that while utilizing some level of skill and badassery, there are more obvious things Boba could go for over Cobb Vanth or Ahsoka.

A confrontation with Mando is inevitable, but the question is whether Boba manages to get his hands on the Child in an attempt to get that bounty. Out with that, another avenue is for Boba Fett to capture and wield the Darksaber, perhaps playing more into what it is to be a Mandalorian and what that means to different people.
