An expensive new skin bundle has arrived in VALORANT that allows players weapons to be morphed into fire-breathing dragons. Riot Games revealed the new Elderflame skin set that will swoop into stores July 10th for a hefty price.

Debuting the Skin Reveal trailer yesterday on the VALORANT YouTube channel, Riot Games encouraged players to “awaken the fire within” as the devs got VALORANT players hyped for the new skin bundle. The 53 second trailer featured floating embers surrounding the mouth of a growling dragon’s head as the music swelled with its movements. The trailer then turned to gameplay where your character can be seen holding the dragon as a gun while staying animated as shots are being fired. Its ending featured a nice quirk where you see your character handing the dragon some ammo to reload. It then attaches the clip for you in an epic display of teamwork that served as the trailer’s highlight.

The Elderflame skin set will come with four skins and cost 9,900 VP when it arrives. PC Gamer noted that VP can only be purchased in a pre-set bundle format starting from $5 for 475 VP to $100 for 11,000 VP. This catch means that players will have to fork out $100 in order to own the entire Elderflame skin set and ultimately a pet dragon.

If investing in the bundle is a little out of your price range, then the individual skins might be more for you and can be bought separately at the price of $25. Combining the recent leak from PlayerIGN and the new trailer, it looks like the Elderflame bundle will include various skins for the Vandal, Frenzy, Operator, and Bucky. The trailer also demonstrated that melee weapons could be transformed into a dragon as well.

The Ultra Edition skins got some instant feedback as it played to the hearts of Game of Thrones fans who quickly dished out the various names they would call their pet dragons. A lot of players commented on Riot Games’ unreasonably high prices with others referencing to the rather unfortunate area that the trigger would be placed.

The new skins combined with Riot Games’ recent announcement stating that it plans to release six new agents per year makes for an exciting future ahead for the FPS. Executive producer Anna Donlon confirmed VALORANT’s upcoming content schedule that features six-month episodes divided into two-month acts with each act debuting a new hero.
