The Matrix Resurrections cast has gathered in a new featurette to talk about the legacy of the original film. The Matrix was released in 1999, written and directed by Lana and Lilly Wachowski and starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, and Joe Pantoliano. The film became a cultural phenomenon, working its way into every fabric of life, from philosophy to style to music and beyond, as well as ushering in a new era of computer-generated effects that were unseen up until that time.

The Matrix spawned two sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, which continued the story of Neo (Reeves), Morpheus (Fishburne), and Trinity (Moss), who are humans existing in a post-apocalyptic world controlled by machines as they battle to save humanity while jumping between the real world and a computer simulation.
