Homer and Lisa have one of the sweetest relationships in The Simpsons. They often clash ideologically on issues like the meat industry, but ultimately, Homer couldn’t be prouder of Lisa and, although she’s a lot smarter than him at just eight years old, Lisa loves her dad and looks up to him.

From Lisa spending her entire spring break at the nuclear power plant with her dad to Homer giving up sleep entirely to take on a second job to pay for a pony to make Lisa happy, this father-daughter pairing is responsible for some of The Simpsons’ most heartfelt storylines.

He steals a cherry picker to get a better view and then ends up getting his head stuck in a closing drawbridge. When he finally finds her, he takes her to the museum and breaks in so she can still see the exhibit.

When a caricaturist makes Lisa feel self-conscious about her looks in season 4’s “Lisa the Beauty Queen,” Homer reluctantly sells his Duff blimp ticket to enter her in a beauty pageant.

Lisa only ends up being the runner-up in the initial contest but clinches the crown when the true winner is struck by lightning while holding the Little Miss Springfield scepter.

3 Homer Vs. Lisa And The 8th Commandment (Season 2, Episode 13)

Since the Bible says, “Thou shalt not steal,” Lisa feels very uncomfortable when Homer gets an illegal cable hook-up so he can invite his friends over to watch every major sporting event.

Lisa is disappointed that Homer doesn’t want to keep spending Sundays with her when the NFL season is over, so he cancels his bowling game with Barney and goes hiking with his daughter instead.

1 Lisa’s Wedding (Season 6, Episode 19)

Lisa gets a glimpse into her future in the season 6 episode “Lisa’s Wedding,” The Simpsons’ first flash-forward episode and still the best by far. Lisa meets a charming British man named Hugh and they become engaged and travel back to Springfield for the wedding.

When Hugh refuses to wear the goofy cufflinks that Homer gave him, Lisa realizes she’s marrying the wrong guy and calls off the wedding. Back in the present, the story reaffirms Lisa’s love for her father as she meets up with him and they leave the carnival together.
