Although it ended in 2017, it’s still beloved by viewers and it remains a part of television pop culture. The series had an impressive run, and it managed to be unique from earlier supernatural shows that revolved around similar concepts.

Because of how iconic TVD has become, fans find themselves rewatching the show more than once. But rewatches are a big commitment, and it can be easier to replay the highlights. While TVD is adored as a whole, there are specific scenes in the series that fans can’t seem to get enough of.

10 Damon Cooks For Bonnie In The Prison World

The Season 6 premiere spends its time convincing viewers that Damon and Bonnie are gone for good. But during the last minute of the episode, Damon is seen making pancakes while “Shine” by Collective Soul plays in the background.

Bonnie gets their drinks ready and Damon places a smiley face pancake in front of her with fangs made out of whipped cream. She complains about the fangs, as she does every morning, but there’s no mistaking her amusement. Whether viewers shipped Bonnie and Damon romantically or liked them as friends, Damon’s domesticity makes fans keep coming back to this scene.

9 Klaus And Stefan Go Shopping With Rebekah

Klaus and Stefan had a stormy relationship, which is partially why it’s beloved by so many viewers. Back in the 1920s, Stefan was dating Rebekah and he was genuine friends with Klaus. Klaus had to take his memories away, but when Stefan gets them back he’s able to use them to his advantage.

Stefan and Klaus lounge around and drink wine while Rebekah tries on dresses in the store. Rebekah is the third wheel in this situation, as Klaus and Stefan make fun of her and act like long-lost brothers — which, in a way, they are.

8 Elena’s Love Confession to Damon

There are probably a good amount of Delena fans who have this scene perfectly memorized. The love triangle between Elena, Stefan, and Damon had gone on for so long that viewers in both camps were stressed.

It might have taken years, but Elena finally chooses Damon and gives him an epic speech telling him how much she loves him. After Damon’s brief moment of shock, they share a kiss in front of the roaring fireplace.

7 Stefan And Damon Reunite In The Afterlife

The bond between Stefan and Damon was the heart of The Vampire Diaries. After Nina Dobrev exited the series, the Salvatores were able to carry the show for two more seasons. Stefan’s death was heartbreaking to everyone, but Damon took it especially hard.

Elena mentions in her voiceover that Damon is worried he’ll never see Stefan again, so when Damon dies and goes to the afterlife, their reunion is the most powerful and emotional moment in the show’s history. The first words Damon said in the pilot were, “Hello brother,” and they also happened to be his last. However, the first time it was full of hate, and the last it was full of love.

With Klaus heading to New Orleans for The Originals spinoff, fans were worried that whatever was building between him and Caroline had reached a permanent end.

Klaus comes to town in the Season 4 finale after receiving a graduation invitation from Caroline. He tells her that Tyler is allowed to return to Mystic Falls. Klaus makes sure Caroline knows that just because he’s leaving doesn’t mean he’s giving up on her. He tells her that he intends to be her last love, however long it takes.

In a show where the threat of death is lurking behind every corner, the simple moments are often the most appreciated. Elena’s plan to kiss Stefan on top of the Ferris wheel fell through when supernatural drama ensued, and she goes home stressed about the night’s events.

Stefan wakes up Elena in the middle of the night and brings her back to the carnival. He holds her in his arms and leaps to the top of the Ferris wheel, where Stefan follows through on his promise and kisses her.

4 Damon Erases Elena’s Memory

Damon and Elena did get their happy ending, but it was a long and bumpy road. During the first couple of seasons of the series, Elena couldn’t even imagine being with the elder Salvatore brother. Although it was obvious to everyone, Damon had never actually told Elena that he loved her.

Katherine was a fan-favorite character as a vampire, and she only gets better after she becomes human. She relied on her supernatural abilities for 500 years and she didn’t have to deal with sickness or injuries.

When Matt and Jeremy hold her hostage and they end up on a road trip, Katherine gets a sinus infection. Katherine spends the entire time complaining and being grossed out by the things she’s coughing up. It’s a great scene for fans to rewatch whenever they need a laugh.

2 Stefan Mediates A Mikaelson Dinner Party

Stefan always ends up in the middle of Klaus and Rebekah’s arguments, and when the siblings need to have a talk, Stefan gets dragged into it. Klaus throws one of his fancy dinner parties with classical music playing in the background of the Mikaelsons latest disagreement.

Stefan is forced to be the mediator while Klaus attempts to get information out of his sister. Stefan says the famous quote, “Let me just name the million other people I’d rather be having dinner with right now.”

1 Damon And Elena Dance At Miss Mystic Falls

After Damon died in The Vampire Diaries Season 6, Elena admits that her dance with him at the Miss Mystic Falls pageant was when she noticed how attractive he was.

There hadn’t been much intimacy between the two of them before, since Elena was dating Stefan, and Damon had been hung up on Katherine, but something shifted at that moment. It’s a scene that Delena shippers can’t get enough of, and the next Miss Mystic Falls pageant even parallels their first dance.
