It’s been a very varied week in the world of Pokemon. Arceus made its long-awaited debut in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, giving fans the chance to catch the god of all Pokemon.

Arceus Joins Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl

Getting Arceus was the biggest flex as a kid. It was proof that your parents were cool enough to reluctantly drive you to a different city just to catch a special monster in a game. At least, it was a different city for me – sorry Mum.

But with the remakes, there’s no need for that at all. The ability to catch Arceus has been rolled out in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, for all players that have both completed the game, and have Legends: Arceus save data on their Switch. Accomplishing both of these will give you the azure flute, allowing you to summon Arceus for battle.

Pokemon Fan Remakes Legends: Arceus, But You Play As Pokemon Instead

Not many Pokemon games let us play as the titular ‘mons themselves, so one fan decided to do something about it. YouTuber Avatar Nick has created a remake of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, where you control the wild Pokemon, not the trainer. Every Pokemon in the game is playable, despite them all having their own unique animations to work around. This meant dealing with a LOT of larger ‘mons clipping into the floor. Check out the video above to see how this feat was accomplished.

Snap Magikarp Pokemon Card Goes For Over $100,000 At Auction

It seems like we can never go a week without a story like this. A rare Snap Magikarp card went for $100,000 at auction this week, making it one of the most expensive cards out there. Despite being the weakest Pokemon of the bunch, the card is one of just 20 in existence – making it extremely valuable for collectors. It was originally discounted as part of a Pokemon Snap contest, so it’s unlikely to be sitting in your attic collecting dust, I’m afraid.

Chihuahua Wants To Be The Very Best At Crufts By Performing To The Pokemon Theme Song

You don’t often see many video game references in the dog show, Crufts. But this year, we got a whole Pokemon-themed performance. The owner of an adorable chihuahua called Sophie dressed up as Ash Ketchum, as her pooch performed to the original Pokemon anime theme song. Sophie even defeated a Charizard, and helped her owner catch a Bulbasaur. Sadly, footage of their performance wasn’t saved, so instead enjoy this video from their Crufts 2020 appearance.
