The charming Tom Holland can be a bit of a loose cannon when it comes to revealing spoilers. While these impromptu reveals are met with good humor, the actor will be free of contractual obligations once Spider-Man: No Way Home releases at the end of this year – and who knows what a free rein Tom Holland looks like.

Holland joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe back in 2016, when his younger rendition of the web-slinging Peter Parker swung into Captain America: Civil War. It was an exciting time to be a superhero fan, as the Spider-Man community had not been completely satisfied with Andrew Garfield’s portrayal in 2012 and 2014. Nevertheless, Garfield’s Spider-Man has its fans, just like Tobey Maguire’s iconic silver screen debut of the character is a treasured performance.

Holland no doubt breathed new life into the character again, and his fresh face was well-received amidst the ever-growing Avengers series that took the world by storm. The 24-year-old’s shot at city-swinging came with a standard trio of films as well as a rigid contract, and Holland has big plans for when those shackles fall. “I might go skiing,” the actor told USA Today, as this sport was forbidden whilst Holland was under contract because of the risk attached. Holland plans to take a break from acting – after working on Cherry, Chaos Walking, and more in a short time frame – and travel the world.

Once Spider-Man: No Way Home releases, the superhero’s future remains uncertain. Holland’s third feature will mark the end of Sony and Marvel Studios’ collaboration, where both companies could go separate ways and make independent Spider-Man films in the future. One thing that will remain, however, is Holland’s energy that he brought to the role. The young actor has been dubbed as the best Spider-Man for many, and his successful streak will no doubt be considered by Sony or Marvel again.

Holland does have one more release in the distant future, which is Ruben Fleischer’s Uncharted adaptation. The film will release in February 2022, and Holland has spread nothing but positivity regarding the live-action’s appeal to everyone, and not just fans of the game.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is expected to release on December 17, 2021.
