BOOM! The cavalry’s here with an all-new Overwatch event featuring the game’s poster girl, Tracer. It’s called Tracer’s Comic Challenge and features the Brit in a comic book style attire that can be redeemed until September 28.

The new skin features Tracer with white hair, pink goggles, and comic book strip paneled pants (or trousers in her country). It looks just as energetic as the hero herself! You can get the legendary skin by winning nine Arcade games from now until September 28.

The event will also reward players who watch any Overwatch streamers for a certain amount of time with sprays and unique voice lines. To earn these drops, you must link your Blizzard account under the Twitch Connections page. Watch six hours to get all the rewards!

Tracer’s Comic Challenge coincides with the release of a new series by Dark Horse Comics called London Calling. It’s set after the disbandment of Overwatch, and Tracer’s a part-time hero. As she carries out her duties, she finds an Omnic called Iggy and discovers the horrible living conditions of this Android kind. This forces her to get back into the action five years after the Petras Act.

Mariko Tamaki is the Canadian writer behind the comic; she’s worked on series like Harley Quinn: Breaking Glass, IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the Tomb Raider comic adaptations, among others. She seems like the perfect fit to write a strong and empathetic female character like Tracer. The comic is available for free now digitally, but you’ll be able to buy it physically on December 2, 2020.

Back on the games front, it’s been a long time since we heard something about Overwatch 2. It was back in November when we had the first gameplay trailer that showed an increased emphasis on the storyline. It’s been 10 months, and we’ve heard nothing. Perhaps, this comic series could lead into whatever Blizzard has in store for us.

Blizzard nailed the lore, look, and feel of this world, and the roster of characters, especially Tracer, is incredibly appealing. We hope Blizzard continues to make new events for Overwatch and reveals its sequel sometime soon. While you wait, you might want to listen to our curated playlist about what Tracer would listen to in her downtime or perhaps on a mission!
