Twilight and The Originals are usually two franchises that come to mind when thinking about vampires and werewolves, both being hugely popular on the big and small screen, respectively. While the CW drama has some darker themes, both interpretations of the paranormal have enough in common that it is not implausible that they share the same world.

The biggest thing these two franchises share, besides the supernatural beings, is the abundance of romance-led storylines. Considering the number of couplings that happen in both, it would only be natural that if the two groups were to meet, it would lead to new romances. Many pairings would be a match made in heaven while some of them would lead to chaos.

10 Would Work: Jacob & Hayley

These two werewolves adapted to the role of leader of their respective packs, both of them earning the Alpha role. They would do anything for their pack, including giving up on their first loves, Hayley with Jackson and Jacob with Bella.

They would understand each other in a way many couldn’t comprehend and the traits that they share would make them a strong ruling couple. They both have big hearts and deserved better in their respective stories so this would be a beautiful way for them to both finally get to have true love.

9 Wouldn’t Work: Jacob & Rebekah

Jacob has made it more than apparent that he can’t stand the smell of vampires, and that, paired with Rebekah’s strong personality, would definitely make it hard for these two to ever give dating a chance.

Rebekah likes to play games and Jacob is a lot more straightforward and a lot of Rebekah’s actions contradict the values Jacob has. There is not enough common ground between these two to see past their differences and the disdain they would have for each other at first sight.

8 Would Work: Alice & Freya

Although it is never confirmed one way or another, out of all the characters on Twilight, Alice seems like she would be the most open when it comes to love and gender, which would allow her to be attracted to Freya.

Freya is a lot like Jasper, very stoic and quiet but powerful and very intuitive, all the things Alice seems to love about him. And Freya would enjoy Alice’s free spirit and lack of judgment, making them a great pair.

7 Wouldn’t Work: Alice & Klaus

With Camille, Klaus did prove that he has a sensitive side and is capable of love, and if anyone of the vampires from Twilight would be willing to give him a chance it would be Alice. But due to her abilities she, unlike Camille, would easily be able to see when he was lying and trying to hide his true nature.

She would always be able to be one step ahead of him and that lack of control would likely drive Klaus mad and to him ultimately trying to get rid of her. The relationship would be a lot like that between him and Hayley, with the two hating each other but still having the possibility of a one-night stand.

6 Would Work: Bella & Elijah

Bella has already proven she has a tendency to think humans are not worth her time, always choosing someone of the supernatural species. And since she didn’t choose Jacob, the vampire seems to be her preferred type.

Elijah and Edward share many qualities Bella seems to be into, such as their intellect and charm and the experience that comes with being around for centuries. Bella might have a penchant for vampires but she would only be with the one who doesn’t feed on humans, which should make Elijah even more appealing to her since he only feeds on blood bags.

5 Wouldn’t Work: Bella & Jackson

From their similar names to their species, Jacob and Jackson have an awful lot in common. Both of these werewolf leaders have plenty of redeeming quality but due to how things played out between Bella and Jacob in the Twilight series, it’s pretty probably that Bella would not pick Jackson over Edward.

Just like in Twilight, he might be the safer, smarter choice but Bella is anything but safe and smart in her decisions and if she went after anyone in The Originals universe, it would probably be Elijah.

4 Would Work: Edward & Camille

Camille’s story is a lot like Bella’s, but Klaus is certainly no Edward. Camille did deserve someone like Edward though and he would surely fall for her the way he fell for Bella, both of them being fearless and nonjudgmental, traits that allowed Bella to open up her heart to Edward.

Edward and Camille would find a lot of mutual ground, including their love for music and adrenaline rushes. Edward would certainly give her a happier ending than she got in The Originals.

3 Wouldn’t Work: Carlisle & Aurora

Carlisle is the purest-hearted and kindest of all the vampires in the Twilight series. He is the cause of many vampires finding a way to live without killing and he is the only vampire who is strong enough to be near human blood without losing control, allowing him to be a doctor to both humans and vampires.

His kindness and resolve to make the best of his situation is a direct contrast to how Aurora deals with her own turning. She becomes ruthless and chaotic and Carlisle would have a very hard time approving of the lifestyle she leads. Esme is the exact opposite of the tornado that is Aurora, making it a sure thing that these two would never be a couple.

2 Would Work: Jane & Tristian

These two have a lot of traits the other would admire. Tristian is known for his lavish tastes and luxurious lifestyle, something Jane, the leading woman of the Volturi, certainly is no stranger to.

The Volturi are the closest thing to royalty in the Twilight world and Tristan and Jane would have no trouble finding value in the other partner, both being highly ambitious and having a fondness for causing people pain.

1 Wouldn’t Work: Rosalie & Lucien

Lucien was a force to be reckoned with in The Originals, but through flashbacks in Twilight fans see that Rosalie is one very strong vampire and has a vendetta against men who murder women. And since Lucien has killed a few himself, most notably when he killed a real estate agent to get an apartment, Rosalie would surely make him a target of her wrath, not her lust.

She also has a high disdain for anyone who would choose to be a vampire, giving up life when she never got the choice. And since Lucin basically begged to be turned by Klaus, Rosalie would have a lot of trouble finding him appealing, especially if the way she treated Bella is any indignation.
