Everyone’s favorite “HONK!” meme could be getting a physical release for the Nintendo Switch very soon. Untitled Goose Game became available for digital download in September last year and due to its unexpected popularity, it could now be sitting on your shelves by next year.

Spotted on Amazon Germany, a recent listing was posted by Skybound that advertises Goose’s game as being a September 22nd release coming in at a lower price of 35.99€. As the game is of considerably smaller size the price is not that of a AAA game which should please fans of the puzzle sandbox game. The post from Skybound Games included in the details that the game was active for pre-order that will no doubt be on everyone’s Christmas list.

Comments circulating around the gaming community of the game’s possible physical release only confirmed the amount of hype for Goose and its game. Many fans pointed out that they only ever see positive comments and accolades in connection with the game and that it totally deserved its physical debut. Others joked that a new meme of Goose should be created of it stealing the physical copy of the game from stores. There is a lot of love spread across the gaming board for this House House indie that will hopefully inspire the Australian company to continue developing. There is also praise being sent Skybound’s way for noticing its success and providing fans with their own physical copy.

Skybound Games took over from Telltale Games after its collapse in 2018 to complete the last two episodes of The Walking Dead: The Final Season to conclude the series. The company, founded by Robert Kirkman and David Alpert, also released physical copies of the game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch and it looks like Goose is getting the same treatment. Since it launched in April 2018, Skybound has been a big advocate for indie games and almost immediately signed deals to release both Slime Rancher and The Long Dark in physical format.

The great Goose’s endeavors were locked in closed beta until indie fans spotted the hidden gem and quickly grew its popularity. Since its late 2019 release, Untitled Goose Game went on to receive the Game of the Year Award from the Game Developers Conference as well as the D.I.C.E Awards. The game first arrived on Switch last September and went on to sell more than one million copies by the time December hit.

With the many releases being revealed this year, the physical Switch release of Untitled Goose Game will give gamers a honking good time in September.
