Very Cavallari’s Jay Cutler has officially broken things off with One Tree Hill actress Jana Kramer. The whirlwind romance began in early September when they were seen dining at Bourbon Steak before grabbing some drinks at Nashville hotspot L.A. Jackson. Just a few weeks later, the highly talked about couple were photographed together while visiting Nashville eatery The Twelve Thirty Club. Jay and Jana never made their relationship official, but they did create a very close bond over their similar high-profiled divorce experiences.
Jay was formally married to The Hills star Kristin Cavallari. The duo who starred in their own spin-off series announced they were going their separate ways after spending 10 years together last April. They share three children: 9-year-old son Camden, 7-year-old Jaxon, and 5-year-old daughter Saylor. Though Jay reportedly gave Kristin a heads up about his upcoming dates, the blossoming connection did not go over well with his ex, as Kristin immediately blocked Jana on Instagram. Sources close to Kristin explained that the reality star doesn’t care that Jay is dating again but felt she needed to take those drastic measures online in order to avoid seeing the happy couple together. That said, Kristin has moved on herself and is currently linked to country music star Chase Rice.
Though Jay’s connection with Jana sent waves between him and Kristin, the relationship has apparently fizzled out. According to an E! News insider, Jay’s interest in the actress was basically a PR stunt to “get under Kristin’s skin,” but since it seemed like his ex-wife could care less about his very public relationship, he broke things off. “They went out all over Nashville and Kristin didn’t care. That’s it,” the source said.
Jay hasn’t publicly spoken on the relationship since it formed in front of the cameras, but Jana has previously acknowledged it on her podcast. Early in their relationship, the duo traveled to South Carolina, where they were spotted enjoying a comedy show. According to the actress, she and Jay actually ran into her ex-husband, Mike Caussin, which turned out to be a rather difficult experience for her. “You know what’s really messed up? My ex was there the same night and the photographer tried to get a picture with all three of us and I was like, ‘No, no, no, no, no, nice try,'” Jana said. “And everyone kind of starting laughing, but I was like, ‘Not happening.'” Jana added that she was then forced to sit there and watch her ex flirt with other women but then remembered he was in the same situation on the other side of the room.
It looks like Jay is back to the drawing board in the romance department; it’s just unclear if it’s one that focuses on moving on or getting the Very Cavallari star back in his good graces. Nonetheless, it seems as Jay is struggling to find love in today’s climate as he doesn’t feel comfortable putting himself out there on various dating apps, nor can he just pick a girl up at the bar like he used to. Times have changed just like his priorities now that he’s a father of three.
