Where to Catch Galarian Slowpoke in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Nintendo and Game Freak recently announced the Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion pass, which will add two large expansions to the games. The Isle of Armor expansion will be released first, this coming June, and it is bringing with it some new Pokemon. However, Pokemon Sword and Shield fans don’t have to wait to June to add one of the new Isle of Armor Pokemon to their collection.

After downloading the latest Pokemon Sword and Shield update, players will be able to catch Galarian Slowpoke. However, Galarian Slowpoke doesn’t just appear in the wild. On the contrary, Pokemon Sword and Shield players have to visit a very specific place in the Galar region if they hope to catch one before the Isle of Armor expansion’s release date in June.

Here’s where Pokemon Sword and Shield players need to go to catch a Galarian Slowpoke in the games.

Where to Catch Galarian Slowpoke

No matter what version Pokemon fans are playing, Galarian Slowpoke will be found in the same location. Players need to visit Wedgehurst Station to find Galarian Slowpoke, but there is one more step before it will actually appear.

If players are playing Pokemon Sword, then they will have to talk to Klara, their new rival in the upcoming Isle of Armor expansion. However, if Pokemon fans are playing Pokemon Shield instead, they will have to talk to Avery. Like Klara, Avery is the new rival character in the Isle of Armor expansion. After a short scene, players will then have the opportunity to catch Galarian Slowpoke, which should be easy. It doesn’t seem likely that players will miss their chance to catch Galarian Slowpoke in Pokemon Sword and Shield unless they do so on purpose, but those who want to err on the side of caution may want to save right beforehand. In the unlikely event that one does miss out on catching Galarian Slowpoke, they will have more opportunities to do so once the Isle of Armor expansion launches in June.

How to Evolve Galarian Slowpoke

After Pokemon Sword and Shield players catch Galarian Slowpoke, they will no doubt want to know how to evolve it into Galarian Slowbro or Galarian Slowking. Unfortunately, it’s currently impossible to evolve Galarian Slowpoke in Pokemon Sword and Shield. An item will be released in the Isle of Armor expansion that will make it possible to get Galarian Slowbro, though Galarian Slowking won’t be obtainable until The Crown Tundra expansion launches in fall 2020.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
