Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl launched at the tail end of last year. Remakes of the gen four games a lot of players had been waiting a very long time for. Especially today, as more evidence that BDSP are faithful remakes of the original games has arrived. In Diamond & Pearl, the chance of encountering Pokemon and the speed at which an egg would hatch would be either increased or decreased on certain days. As highlighted by Serebii, that mechanic has been improved and included in the remakes. Instead of a 50/50 chance that they will drop, today trainers are guaranteed both an encounter and hatch rate boost.
If it feels like you’re finding more Pokemon on particular days in BDSP, an increased encounter rate is actually pretty common. Today’s is already the fourth of 2022. Hatch rate boosts are a little rarer, though. Today’s is the first of the year and there won’t be another one until February 14. If you’ve got eggs to hatch, then fire up your Switch and hatch them today.
