The pride of the Dominion fleet is now available for pre-order from Dark Horse Comics, which includes the trademark Yamato cannon.
Sadly foor many, it doesn’t work. Human technology has yet to reach the advanced stage as shown in StarCraft, the sci-fi real-time strategy game from Blizzard. However, you can certainly get this tiny scale replica in hopes that one day, humanity will have a giant spaceship capable of blowing up entire cities with a single enormous particle cannon.
From Dark Horse Comics’ memorabilia division, Dark Horse Direct, comes this 35-pound model built by Gentle Giant Studios and with the blessing of Blizzard Entertainment. It is a faithful recreation of the original Terran Battlecruiser as portrayed in StarCraft.
Roughly 15 inches long, the model is made entirely out of polyresin and is painstakingly hand-painted in stunning detail. Viewers can likely make out the glowing blue of the forward cannon array, including the previously mentioned Yamato cannon, as well as the gunmetal grey surrounding more blue tinges of the engine nacelles.
According to the StarCraft Wiki, each Terran Battlecruiser had a complement of between 4,000 and 7,000 sailors along with room for thousands of additional ground troops. Armed with J23 ship-to-ship batteries, ATS/ATA laser batteries, point defense systems, plasma torpedoes, and, of course, the dreaded Yamato cannon, the Battlecruiser was the pinnacle of Terran supremacy.
Of course, that is until a bunch of Protoss Carriers warp in to ruin its day.
This incredibly detailed model comes with a clear plastic display with the Terran Dominion logo stamped on the base. This is the perfect centerpiece for a StarCraft collection or just a great conversation starter by leaving it on your living room table.
Pre-orders are available now for the low price of $299.99. Deliveries are expected to begin sometime between February and April of next year. You can order from Dark Horse Direct’s website, but it would be wise to make haste. Only 500 of these beasts will be made, and once they’re gone, they’re gone for good.
