He is so full of emotion and feelings that they constantly made an appearance in the actions he took throughout the show. That Max is played by the effortlessly charming Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect) only seals the deal.

10 He Encourages Zoey When She’s Up For The Promotion

Max and Zoey work together on the same team, but he wants nothing to do with the promotion that is up for grabs. He understands that Zoey is clearly the better option, and instead of fighting her for it he gives her encouraging words. Zoey is given confidence as he reminds her why she is the perfect woman for the job and it showed viewers why he’s so wonderful.

9 When He Found Zoey A Way To The Hospital

Max was at a party to find a girl, but when Zoey was in need of a way to the hospital he abandoned his plans to help her. It wasn’t easy as no taxis are available, so he manages to snag a scooter from someone before they ride away. Max even puts her on the scooter with him as she is in no state to ride it alone and he wanted to make sure she safely made it to the hospital.

8 He Arranged A Flash Mob To Tell Zoey How He Felt

Zoey might not have responded positively to the flash mob that Max set up for her, but it was still one of his best moments. He cared so much about her that he was willing to sing, dance, and pay others to help him set up an extravagant way to tell Zoey he loved her. She didn’t appreciate it, but it definitely scored Max plenty of points with viewers.

7 He Calls Simon To Let Him Know That Zoey’s Father Passed Away

Max and Simon were in a constant battle for Zoey’s heart, but Max ended up being the bigger person. He called Simon in order to let him know that her father had passed away, even though he could have kept the information to himself.

Max could have been the only one there to comfort her in this time of grief and he chose to think about her feelings instead and who she would want by her side during this hard time.

6 He Brought Zoey’s Father Butterscotch Pudding

Zoey was supposed to go to a farm-to-table restaurant with Max but instead sent him with her barista. When his date was over he made sure to bring Zoey’s father some of their butterscotch pudding as he was sure he would enjoy it, and his compassion really demonstrated the size of his heart. He went above and beyond for the dying man and even took the time to talk to him despite his condition that would have driven other men away.

5 He Joins Zoey’s Dance Number During Her Meeting

Zoey had revealed her secret power to Max and he originally thought she was mocking him, but later learned the truth when she broke out in song during a meeting. He could have stood back and watched her fail miserably in front of her boss, although he decided to help her out instead. He jumped right in during the middle of her song and dance to help her out and even stepped up with an explanation for it when Zoey was drawing a blank.

4 When He Let Mo Give Him A Makeover

Max had broken up with Autumn and was ready to move on, but Mo decided he needed a new look if he wanted to be successful. He could have said no, seeing as he didn’t really know Mo all that well and they had never hung out in any capacity before.

Yet Max agreed to let Mo have his shot and he was turned into a man that every woman at the party would want to take home. He was open to the experience and it increased his friendship with Mo while showing his willingness to be open to his friend’s ideas.

3 He Acts As Mo’s Wingman

Mo had given Max a makeover, so Max decided to repay the favor by acting as Mo’s wingman at the party. He wasn’t great at it, but it did open the door for Mo to talk to Eddie and learn that he felt the same way. It was a typical Max moment where he went above and beyond for those he cares about as he hoped to make their lives a little better, and it made it one of the best episodes in the series.

2 He Gives Zoey Time To Grieve

Zoey and Max were in a make out session when she received the call that her father was going to pass very soon. He rushed her home and helped in any way he could, but made sure that she knew the conversation about their relationship could wait. Max wanted to make sure she took care of her feelings and dealt with this traumatic event before thinking about a future with him as he understood how hard it was on her.

1 Anytime He Sings A Heart Song

Max sings quite a few heart songs throughout Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and each one is better than the last. A few of his best include “All Of Me,” “I’m Gonna Be,” and “Sucker” as his dancing combined with his amazing vocals bring his true feelings to light. Some would argue he has the best voice on the series, which is just another reason why he is so beloved.
