Toy manufacturer Funko is going all-out with their upcoming product previews at the 2018 Toy Fair. In addition to several new licenses for their famous Funko Pop! line, 2018 will see Funko producing traditional action figures based on the Harry Potter series and props based on the upcoming film Ready Player One.

Originally founded in 1998, Funko first found mainstream success over a decade ago when the company began manufacturing bobble-heads based on licensed characters. Since that time, Funko has branched out into a wide variety of toy lines. They have also licensed various popular television series, film franchises and video games among other pop culture institutions to create their most popular line – the Funko Pop! series of vinyl figures.

Unsurprisingly, there’s a wide variety of new toys for collectors to peruse and it seems likely that Funko may have something for everyone among this year’s offerings. Game of Thrones fans will have more figures to add to their collections as they wait for season 8, with new figures based on Jon Snow, Davos Seaworth and Daenerys Targaryen along with an oversized Pop! of Daenerys on the Dragonstone Throne. Rick and Morty fans will have their choice of one of four Pickle Rick plush dolls to choose from, which each doll having a different expression. Jurassic Park fans will be glad to know that today’s announcements have confirmed Owen, Claire and Blue figures for the upcoming release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, in addition to Funko’s previously announced line based on the first Jurassic Park movie.

Black Panther will be getting two new Pop! figures, depicting T’Challa in white and black variants of his formal robes of royalty. Lara Croft will be getting a new figure to coincide with the release of the upcoming Tomb Raider movie. The three astral-traveling guardians of A Wrinkle In Time – Mrs. Who, Mrs. Which and Mrs. Whatsit – will be getting individual Pop! figures and also be part of an exclusive three-pack that will, appropriately enough, only be available at Barnes and Noble bookstores.

If this first day of announcements from Toy Fair 2018 is any indication, Funko has a lot of great things planned for collectors this weekend. What else might they expect to see as the weekend progresses? Who can say? The only certainty is that whatever Funko does next, it is sure to surprise and delight some fan somewhere.
